I'm not really worried about the reception this single gets, a lot of people we're underwhelmed with the SAWAYAMA pre release singles like CDG Bad Friend and especially Chosen Family and were ready to write it off but most ended up switching once the album dropped

Those others listed aren't on ASCAP or BMI, so maybe GEMA. Shocked to see Mission: U registered. That, HWWT and Proud were among the last few on "the SAWAYAMA board" lol

lyrics are cringey as hell and the song definitely gives gaga idk how anyone can say it doesnt  she really has been on a downward trajectory musically. the song doesn't suck but it's nothing to write home about

But she kinda kept the lyrics too corny sometimes. I wish she had done the anthemic BTW sound but with edgier lyrics.

Gaga's other daughters (like Ava) usually get the big choruses and drama, but this is the first time I've heard someone match the CAMP in a pure pop song. Love it

It’s cute. It’s very camp and Gaga and she seems to be fully leaning into that audience. I just wish the ending chorus had a bit more punch to it. 

I love how one insider is like - “it’s great! This is her Teenage Dream” and another is like “terrible! This is her Born This Way”. Either way, I think I’m going to like it. I hope this era sees at least a tenth of the success of those songs/albums

It’s just that the lyrics are so ****ing wretched. The first verse is so basic, and the second is simply garbage. How are you going to write a song about homophobia and make an entire verse about pop icons? The You Need To Calm Down of it all (even that mess was better written and produced).
