If one idol of that group is producing, writing, can competently sing or rap etc. then good for them. They are a musician. But that doesn’t mean that they are in a group that should be respected as musicians. Kpop groups aren’t musicians. 

I know all that, and that doesn’t mean we need to discredit all the individual efforts of those idols who are actively participating in the music creation process by saying “they shouldn’t be respected as musicians” just because they’re inside a system where manufactured and artistic expressions go hand in hand. 
plus, as I said, performing is also an art form and should be celebrated, especially since kpop has been a performance-oriented landscape since forever. Kpop idols wash most of the western “artists” in terms of performance skills and stage presence…and their artistic persona shines the best on stage.
