It was probably some case where her label was sent the demo, and they were expected to pay for licensing fees if they wanted to record & release the sog. They probably released it, without ever licensing it, effectively cheating the original songwriters and labels out of their royalities.

Many idols are literally fighting with their own companies and producing their own music to get out of that stigma.

Irrelevant boy groups always sell well and there’s a massive disparity between male and female album sales. This isn’t news anywhere in the world - it’s been common recording industry knowledge since the 1950s. 
 

Taeyeon has sold more albums than GD. Taeyeon has bigger hits than GD. Taeyeon’s career is outlasting GD’s. Taeyeon has grossed more on tour than GD. Let’s not even get into how badly SNSD stomped Big Bang, even with YG doing all the FreeZone promotions.

Dumbest argument ever  Chinese digital sales don’t have a set fee and are usually free - they’re not actual sales. Chinese physical sales are reflected in Gaon since actual sales are shipped out from South Korea. Meanwhile, SNSD’s first Japanese album outsold the four physical singles and album release for MADE by over 200k physical copies  

 

Hope that digital success helps BB grow and finally get a 400k+ album.

Tomboy is definitely bigger than the group itself at this point, but comparing the attention they got to the attention aespa got is not very fair when aespa was a brand new group, which obviously would gather more attention from a hit song.

Still, Cube is the worst and is definitely failing to capture the momentum with solo activities.

BB's physical sales is lowkey tragic when you compare them to Super Junior, BTS, EXO or even DBSK
