Yes you have every right to do whatever cause EVERGLOW has literally the best music in Kpop! Us “Forevers” can always brag about that!!!! :clap3:

I believe Twice will surpass Itzy next comeback

groups like Twice, BP and BTS still have long expiration dates and are ahead of 4th gen in every metric - I believe they will get sales boost the same way 4th gen is experiencing it now

also it seems like they have a big edge on the streaming platforms too and it won’t change soon

like, Girls barely scrapping 1.2m for a day is the best number for the 4th gen (at least at debut), but j.hope’s 2.8m is a flop, same story for Lisa and Rose, they both got lashings for their numbers too, when in fact there is no competition in streaming when it comes to BTS and BP :rip:

also I feel like BP will peak this or next comeback and then they will focus more on solo work

This! BTS, BP and TWICE are still stomping on everyone else and their supposed “flops” are still doing better numbers than most of these new hits.

I am actually quite surprised that aespa, ITZY, ENHYPEN & TXT all kind of flopped on Spotify their past era.

SKZ can’t relate :clap3:4th gen leaders I fear

No but seriously I hope IVE's success makes companies realize the public wants melodic songs. Stop the boy groupified musical terrorism :jonny5:

I'm sure music is a big reason but Kep1er had a really public friendly song and failed to enter Global 200 compared to WA DA DA which lasted like weeks on there. I think KPOP has just peaked tbh and as much as some people here would hate to admit it, BTS absence probably plays a part

you have a point, I think Blackpink's upcoming comeback plays / will play a role too

during BP's hiatus most blinks found new groups and replacements to stan while their ult group was away

but now since BP is officially coming back in August, blinks would rather prepare for the comeback and stream their ult's song (BP) than pay attention to the replacement groups

ITZY are the ones trying to surpass Twice not the other way around and they will easily outsell. :rip:

I’m reffering to the fact that ITZY just scored the biggest preorders number and first day sales of JYP ggs and also to the people talking that 4th gen will soon surpass 3rd gen sales like 2nd gen did with 2nd gen. I don’t think ITZY are bigger than TWICE, it’s just the fact that 4th gen starts to sell more than 3rd gen.

Twice still has time and will continue to battle 4th gen groups in sales departament.

There is also no competition in streams (other than BP and BTS, but they are above everyone)

ik kpop stan wars were messy but the last few pages :deadbanana4:

#sipping :coffee:

Itchy missing Global Top 200 is a big surprise ngl :deadbanana2:

Sure the song isnt that good but I was expecting a Day 1 - OUT run like Girls. And they usually do well there ff

KTRL thread, I welcome you into this celebration of the life of ITZY who passed away on the 15/7/2022 following the release of Sneakers. On behalf of the thread I would like to say thank you very much to everyone who has come to celebrate their very brief career and fame which was on life support for awhile but finally checked out as of yesterday.

As leader of IVE, Yujin makes her entrance to the sad and mournful event.

Firstly, she is here to pay her respects as the leader of IVE, knowing that she now has to carry, in the name of her group, the incredible burden of being token-stanned by Blinks.:nicole2:

Secondly, as a former group-mate to one of the dec*ased's relatives, she is here to mourn the former Street Women Fighter participant's sister and give an eulogy, as Miss Chaeyeon herself continues to be incredibly busy remaining unemployed.:chick3:

As manager and representative of Miss Yujin, I announce that she will remain present for the entirety of the funeral activities. All her activities and CFs have been delayed until the end of Checkmate's first week sales, time by which Sneakers is expected to leave MelOn and Genie top 200. Miss Wonyoung will take over the responsibilities as IVE's temporary leader until the event is over. She and the other girls are sending their condolences as well.

3rd gen groups longevity is amazing. twice, bp and bts are still gaining more daily followers and streams than all the 4th gen groups

4th gen groups have more album versions than streams or genuine popularity atp

Also hope that it makes companies realize that a rap verse is not always needed

BP and BTS's streaming power was always going to be the peak of kpop. There is literally no debate regarding that and y'all need to be serious, BP coming back does not mean that other groups won't get streams bc BP are back like? You don't have to stan a group to listen or like a song :deadbanana4: and BTS have been absent for a month, I highly doubt that's caused a domino effect on anyone.

If a song resonates, it resonates.

YG better read this

aespa and ITZY flopping on Spotify doesn't mean K-pop has peaked, the songs are just not that good compared to their previous releases, and not even the general K-pop listener is streaming them.

LOVE DIVE and POP! have been doing great on Spotify because they are catchy, fresh songs that not only their respective stans are listening to but also the general K-pop ones as well.

I don't think this conversation is as deep as some of you are making it out to be tbh. ITZY not even making it in a low 180-200 position is truly embarrassing though.

You shouldn't be. These groups all had a thing that people liked about their music, their companies switched them to bad music and we're seeing the results of that.

I figured out Sunmi would have A LOT of free time ever since she became a D-lister and her career flopped into oblivion but who would have thought she was browsing ATRL under the username Witnessed ET all this time!! :ohwow:

I’ve been muting and ignoring this clown ever since he cried about me “personally attacking” him, but looks like he’s asking for it again :cm: Old attention-seeking habits die hard huh?

True, it will take a while before any 4th gen group will get on their playing field when it comes to their numbers. The fact that these three are still the ones having the most streams, sales and YouTube views on average should tell us everything.
SKZ are kinda getting close though I guess.

Don’t at me but this is the best shes ever looked. Her face shape suits those bangs imo.:clap3:

The #200 on spotify global did 867k streams, so Sneakers did lower than that? :deadbanana2:

I don't understand the "these girls are bombing because BP announced a comeback" argument though. Its not like they dropped an album so their stans are busy streaming that and ignoring new releases. :rip:

Nayoncé is pulling amazing numbers daily. LD is still doing +700k daily and even Fearless is fighting for its life with 500k-600k daily streams months later. I think it simply comes down to quality. :michael:

I guess I just expected them to do worse in the long run, but I was surprised at how sudden the drop was.
