i hope u guys don't overreact/panic about the album flopping and behave like a fanbase of a billionaire + sag/cannes winner actress should behave.

enjoy the music, promote until something eventually click on tiktok and that's it. 

cuz the flop (at least on release week) is inevitable at this point. 

there's no #1 on itunes pre-releases that will be more telling than the 2 songs numbers so far. 

it's bad. hype is low, GP still doesn't see Selena as a singer again and it's Ok. We have to be patient and enjoy the music and be supportive, not panicking left & right. 

 

with that said i do think selena will release A LOT of music this year, may it be a deluxe right after or even another album 

if selena doesn't worry so shouldn't we. we have a lot to celebrate about the success she's getting on her career overall + finally getting new music.

I for one am not worried. Both songs we have so far are wonderful and every snippet we heard so far has been AMAZING. I am totally on board for this album and can't wait to listen.

Between her Cannes and SAG wins, getting Golden Globes and BAFTA nominations, potentially starring in film by Jordan Peele and Sarah Polley, us finally getting a full-length album after nearly half a decade, her becoming a billionaire, her effortlessly crushing the narrative that her looks faded by being in her beauty peak, having the GP and internet on her side again as Hailey's obsession with her is resurfacing, and finding genuine love after surviving emotional abuse and a slew of fuckboys, this past year really feels like the best time to ever stan her and I'm getting really emotional thinking about it.

 

There was so many times that my mind was telling me to unstan and move on from her after she put our fanbase through the ringer, but I've never been prouder to be a stan

Rare has the odd dodgy moment but honestly revival is all good. It's not necessarily all good in the same way, the odd song feels like it's landed from someone else's album, but there aren't many 10s pop girl records that I enjoy as much from start to finish. Selena may not be an amazing singer but she is a great performer, her voice brings so much character to everything

selena, after 5 years of not releasing music and not knowing what people really want, experimented with many sounds and from there she will organize a second album, mostly inspired by fetish/bad liar sounds.

 

I don't expect this album to do well critically either.

I'd rather have the Linda biopic, the Jordan Peele movie, and the Sarah Polley film before this but I'd be really excited if she gets cast. The book is very popular on "Booktok" and I can see a large female audience coming out to see it similar to how they did for It Ends With Us.
