Yeah I don’t understand why she didn’t do something in the bridge or at least ad lib and harmonize with Tinashe at the end. It felt like that outro section was missing another set of vocals.

Well @WheresJay saw your post and let Normani know. She posted the Calvin collab and a link on her story like 10 minutes ago.

The way they mixed her voice is lowkey weird and Calvin could really given her a spot on the bridge too   some ad-libs ion know, something else lol

Facts it’s about unpopular opinion but after hearing Renaissance I’m no longer worried about Normani not delivering. Im 100% She’s gonna release an amazing quality debut album on the level of the greats and it’s gonna get major praise!

I agree but Wild Side is a song I don’t even think Normani herself will ever top. Every choice they made with Wild Side is just perfect. Lyric, vocal delivery, production, ad libs, and then add in the extended version’s bridge. Just musical excellence. 100% a snubbed Grammy.

 

With that said, can’t wait for Candy Paint. Beyonce went into her own unique lane which left lots of space in the lane Normani is going to drop in. We haven’t gotten that Urban-pop female banger. Just need a good video and rollout to pop it off.

Honestly… No idea too. I know that they were apparently shooting a couple weeks ago. (Some insiders spilled, if I remember correctly). But, we’ve been saying this for months now. It ain’t that hard to shoot a MV.  However I think she could be preparing to release in August, considering she’s been somewhat active… 

@popularmoonlight if she drops this august album has to come September or November or we’re for sure in 2023. What is she waiting for lol. Even if it’s the label what are they waiting for ?? Release the project let the GP pick the hits

It baffles me because they could simply put Candy Paint out with the album announcement for 3 months later and simply build anticipation for it?

My assumption is Candy Paint Aug 26. There will probably be a 2 week tease and presave knowing her and that’s the closest date to VMAs which she clearly loves to perform at and she’s actually nominated this time.

That was the rumoured plan for this year. Album had a June 17th date going around, with Candy Paint coming in May.  In all honesty, if she doesn't release CP (or whatever they have in mind - bc insiders are saying they changed plans for what to release) in August, then we can def say goodbye to her career for good. If you haven't already. 

 

Wild Side started the album era and it was a great album launcher. Whoever thought they needed more momentum, ****** her up real good. Now she has nothing and a VMA performance will not change that besides making Twitter talk about her for 2 days. Normani will not have a smash hit without an album. The GP wants to consume a body of work from her.

I really hope they don't do August 26th, but release it a week earlier on the 19th. I'm only saying this because it's apparent Normani and her team/label loves throwing everything out the first week promo wise.

 

Oftentimes, that's disastrous because that won't help out with the longevity.

 

I'd like to see release date on the 19th with video -> then Rhythmic and Urban radio adds on the following Tuesday (23rd) -> then VMAs on the 28th -> then whatever promo slots they can curate to stabilize it (but distribute it throughout September) -> album release in late October (around the time CP is peaking on radio) -> New Urban/Rhythmic single with the album while CP crosses over to Pop
