Yeah I get what you mean Spoiler From my understanding while watching it it seemed like Lee was a lot more intelligent and street wise than Arthur and she essentially was just using and manipulating him to gain her own sort of notoriety and fame, but I do think that characterisation could have been explored a lot further. They definitely went from 0 to "I love you" so confusingly fast, but my friend was like, "yeah, because they're mentally unwell and feel like each other are the only people who understand them" so that made it make more sense to me. Ultimately, Gaga's character was literally only there to boost Joker's storyline and it seems like Todd wasn't interested or just didn't know how to give Lee a life of her own, if only for a short while. That's a problem he apparently has when it comes to female characters?
