We’ll get insider information when there is an actual release date. They can’t give information if there is no information to give

To offer a fresh take: Fun Tonight is severely underrated. It's not one of her best songs at all but fans need to stop grouping it with the likes of Bad Kids or J&D. It's a good song with great lyrics and smooth production, though it probably would have worked better as a ballad. It's not punchy enough to have been a house song.

Be patient. Maybe it’s not like we have so many of them, but ride or die is our treasure and we should respect him. If he want to share, he will share. It’s ok for me that not long time ago he said “soon”. Blade just got some info last November, since then he had none, so we cannot really call him full time insider, yet he shared what he knew with us. 

 

btw, does anyone know what happened to Babylon hooker? He was active on ggd during Chromatica time, he liked me and shared some info with me privately.

perfect choices, Starstruck would have been a smash but I get why they moved on

Again perfect choices, DITD could have been a cute 4th single but tbh 3 singles was good for an 8-track project, esp so soon after The Fame

 

Born This Way:

Perfect except for Judas, obvs hindsight is 20/20 and it’s doing great now, but it rlly was just too similar to Bad Romance and didn’t say anything new for her. I think the last three singles would have done better without Judas before them. Maybe unpopular but I don’t really think there was another song on the album that would have been right for radio in 2011, maybe just shuffle Judas as the last single. Born This Way is the most obvious lead single she’s ever made and it being the lead for that album is integral to her career.

 

ARTPOP:

Applause was the right lead, DWUW is another hindsight is 20/20 thing but it rlly was a great song, just suffered from other factors of her career at the time in terms of success. If the post-album release crash didn’t happen Gypsy could have been a fun third single. GUY as 4th bc that song and video is fantastic.

 

Joanne:

Okay hear me out… she really should have leaned into the country rock thing. Million Reasons and A-Yo as dual lead singles, or MR and Diamond Heart. Then Dancin In Circles if they rlly wanna do something pop. The John Wayne and Joanne videos and promo singles were great, keep that I loved it.

 

ASIB:

Shallow is prob up there with Born This Way as most obvious and important lead single for a project, honestly idk when they would have pushed ARUTW, Shallow was still smashing like a year after release and I feel like you can’t keep pushing a movie soundtrack as long as a normal album. In theory it should have been a real single tho.

To ME, Replay feels like the classic example of a fan fav album track that’s good enough it almost doesn’t need to be a single. Let it do its thing on the album, same with Schieße or (before Wednesday) Bloody Mary. It would be like if Virgo’s Groove was a single, career highlight but that’s just not the vibe ya know

Chromatica era discussion saddens me so much because I love the album visually and sonically. She could've gone Rain On Me and Sour Candy pre-COVID shutdown. Then could've pivoted, rebranded and embraced the era into a string of collaborations in a pandemic era of isolation and could've made Free Woman feat. Rina Sawayama as a single. BloodPop already had a hand with Rina too anyway with Lucid.

 

I can't believe Rina performed Free Woman first than GAR. 

 

Can I be contrarian and say 1000 Doves wouldn’t be the worst choice for a lead from Chromatica

This conversation is tired but I just want to add that TO ME...  Replay is on the same level as Bad Romance, Judas and Schiesse.

 

It's LOUD, it's unconventional, it snarls and slaps and has that dark grit people associate with her the most. I truly think if they had released it as the lead single with a video that matched the tour aesthetics it would've been one of her biggest hits.

Also, she needs to stop singing TEOG on the piano. It was ok when she didn't have many ballads but now she has enough. I wanna see her sing the pop version of the song again with her current voice, same with Marry The Night

Idk why everyone is so quick to dismiss insiders before February is even over  It's also very not unreasonable to say they planned for a February release but then maybe they finalized the Fortnite deal schedule and Interscope/UMG made them carefully navigate a very crowded Q1 and they all agreed March made more sense
