The only reason Chromatica underperformed commercially is because she gave up on the era (and led the era with that HORRIBLE song Stupid Larva)

Had she actually showed she gave any single *** then Chromatica would have prob been a lot more successful because we would have gotten Sour Candy as a single and possibly more music videos. Maybe a performance and interview here and there too...I get there was the pandemic and riots but all other artists were still doing things especially later. Looking back at it retrospectively it feels like she used that stuff as an excuse to not push Chromatica and just sit at home taking D and eating (which is fun I guess)

Chromatica did not perform better than ARTPOP, and it has yet to pass Joanne in the US and some other countries, so not sure what are you basing your claims on.

in US it still goes: ARTPOP (1.7-1.8M) > Joanne (1.5M) > Chromatica (1.3M)

global units it goes: ARTPOP (4.6M) > Chromatica (4M) > Joanne (3.8M)

Albums die in the streaming era upon release and Gaga is not a hitmaker, she goes for 2 singles an era and the albums don’t show potential for more, look at how she struggles on radio. The problem is she is a woman over 30 and if you’re gonna do the same pop shtick as what was popular ten years ago you have to deliver a certain way to hit wider demographics and not just your base.  This is Katy Perry’s issue too.

Joanne: 3.4M

A Star Is Born: 9.6M

Chromatica: 3.5M
