It truly is a crime that an artist as visual and forward-thinking as Gaga has some of the most bland physical packaging. :rip:

She can't even muster up a simple digipak. Like, even a lenticular cover would suffice. :rip:

As overwhelming as it might've been, I miss the days of TF/TFM having so many different editions lol UK digipaks, slide packs, SD cards, and CD+DVD packages :jonny3:

Only to a certain extent. Playlists are obviously key for better streaming performance but increased airplay is always welcome for exposure to new audiences and the general expectation is a chunk of those listeners will actually like the song enough and stream it on their own after hearing it for the first time.

But the good and more important thing about big stations (and especially the biggest T40 station in the US like Z100) leading the charge means that big stations believe in the ability of a song to become a hit which causes kind of a ripple effect to help smaller stations get on board. That's why labels put a lot of emphasis on "early believers" in their ads when promoting a track to radio programmers. Also, helps accumulate airplay points for H100 so it charts for more weeks.

They've slowed down a bit recently but yes, they're still playing it. 3x so far for the day :bird:

I’m delusional and hoping it goes #1.

Fad didn't even bother to post in her social media during important holidays last year (Xmas, New Year, Thanksgiving, Halloween etc) so I'm 100% sure she won't attend awards ceremony

IF she gets nominated, she will. It's the Oscars, she's a member, etc etc.

It coulda gone #1 after Xmas already if her team had been on top of it, the bar was pretty low at that time

BM will go #1 after Flowers spends 14 weeks at #1. Save this message and quote me in April.

Die For You goes Top 10 without TTH.

Bloody Mary needs to be smashed on Radio in order to match DFY’s success, and I really wish they have MV ready while she’s filming

I predict a peak at 39 in March. I hope I'm wrong, but also I don't really care because she doesn't need "hits" at this point. Its just cool to know more people are enjoying her album tracks.

Well if pop radio gets on board we can finally put this theory to test for one of 'PopGa' songs as it never happened in streaming era

There are some songs that can destory radio, but have 0 effect on streaming and minimal on itunes.

i remember HMH seemingly looked like in the countries where it smashed radio it took it abit further on streaming (which was a slog), but that could also be those countries like that song so the radio liked it too.

Chromatica lacked longevity, that’s for sure, even more when it comes to physical sales. If i remember correctly, Chromatica nosedived in physical sales after its first week (which counted all pre-pandemic preorders) and a lot to do with that had the closed music stores due to the pandemic and the ongoing riots.

However, there is no excuse for its lack of longevity on streaming. It debuted with huge numbers, much bigger than what any of us expected, but it definitely didn’t live up to these figures.

:cm::cm:

Joanne's promo suited it, cause it smashed pure sales at the time and on itunes. It's time of release (fall) and the performances on TV went hand-in-hand.

Dance-pop albums are extremely temperamental and need a really focused payola rollout with lots of singles to stick around, look at future nostalgia, that wouldn't be charting in a lot of the world had Physical been promo single and BMH had been the final one - that's basically Chromatica. And they don't do all that, especially back in that era it was such a hard graft to get more singles going for females. there's a reason BP/ariana are on Chromatica.

Dance for her again will be frontloaded, it's natural. maybe much better received now actually looking at the landscape. But, we have to accept that her commercial out-put changed too now. She's been consistent with AP/J/C.
