I just think in terms of singles choices, probably her label picked them, Judas could have served as a final 6th single with TEOG 2nd and probably BM before Judas. The order between BM, Y&I and MTN would have been indefferent I believe in terms of impact. But Judas somewhat hindered the success of the singles that came after.

What happened with them?

TEOG was more for me it should have been the 2nd single and the video was average for standards back then at a time when MVs were still very much a thing to chart high in terms of impact.

Starstruck, Monster, TEOG, The Cure, ARUTW (aka Always Remember Us not hitting #1 when we could easily have), Sour Candy, Replay (probably), Bloody Mary (potentially twice for this one a first in 2011 and maybe now).

Artpop is very Gaga stan friendly and Chromatica very GP friendly. A great album should combine the two. If the album released had combined for instance songs like Applause, RoM, Aura, Venus, GUY, DWUW, Alice, Babylon, 911, Free Woman, SL, MJH, Swine. It would have been a very strong album.

Imagine if Artpop’s 10th anniversary is both Act 2 and a rerelease of Chromatica. Chromatica: the Artpop spectrum, with 10 new songs including the unreleased songs that are circulating on the web with Brooklyn nights as the lead. A dream, literally a dream.

I could be wrong, but the way things are unfolding is younger kids are discovering other album tracks as they start streaming the viral ones, and so the backlog could slowly get stronger. Really hope TEOG takes off next, it deserves to be on Applause level. The release of j:dad will also most probably give a boost since it’s related to music.

It’s honestly a great one. Little Star is probably my favorite track along Power of Goodbye. I think the two could have colabed and make something magical and powerful together in the early 2010s, had Madonna taken a more mature approach to Gaga’s rise. Anyways it’s history now.

The whole Ray of Light album is pop perfection.
