I've been wondering what a return to that type of sound would be like now. She was depressed & had the fibro flare-ups around that album, so she wasn't in the best place when she made it. Plus, this is an unpopular opinion, but I just don't think Mark Ronson was up to the task as executive producer, especially for Gaga. He seemed out-of-his-depth. I think she would've been better off going to another producer for what she wanted Joanne to be because Mark really shines best at making pop bops, and throwback stuff with brass in it (ala Bruno & Amy). It was like expecting Guy Ritchie to make a Terence Malick-type film.
