Gaga was getting a lot hate from the gp during that time period though. Even if she did a great performance people were tired of her antics, and saying she so full of herself, weird/too eccentric etc. people truly were ignoring everything she was doing. I do believe Gaga doing that sound of music performance and cheek to cheek was very smart after artpop. She neede to do something extremely different.
