A Deluxe only makes sense in the context of the Grammy campaign, releasing it in May will not have an impact neither numbers wise, nor strategically. Delaying any kind of plans for a possible song for TDWP2 also doesn't make much sense as there's no guarantee that the song will stick chart wise as seen with TDD, which got a huge push yet it didn't become a hit neither impacted Abracadabra nor DWAS chart wise. In fact, it provided the insight that she should aim to have evergreen songs charting despite moving on to new singles, because there's no guarantee new releases will stick, and DWAS and Abra will always be there just like PD, JD, BR and the like. 
 

The release of a Deluxe, including physical copies, should have come during Christmas season for people to include it in their gift lists and ride on the impact of the tour. 
 

When campaigning for Folklore, Taylor released a live album, and a companion album (just before Christmas) to boost its chances of getting AOTY. With Midnights, there were 4 videos and a rerelease to coincide with the gargantuan tour in order to position it as a wise choice to "reward" AOTY. 
 

She needs to bring Mayhem back to the spotlight now. She doesn't need to chase a hit, in fact, any song from a possible deluxe that gets a promotional push should be either an anthemic song like VIY or DWAS to highlight her songwriting or a weird and Gaga song like Venus, Abra or BR to highlight WHY only Gaga can succeed at that. She needs to bring her KPIs to the front: memorable visuals, catchy choruses, dark themes, edgy fashion, incredible live performance chops, theatrics. 
 

We don't need a Christmas SB but we do need a big live performance to be able to be streamed whether it's the tour, Gagacabana or something else. She needs to evangelize the public and have people champion for her win. All the performances this era have been incredible and the general sentiment after she finishes singing is that she is one of a kind and "wow I didn't remember she was this talented, she is so underrated". That creates a narrative.

 

She just needs a narrative for her win AND for it to make strategic sense for the Grammy jury to give it to her. She needs to provide a vision of where she is right now and why granting her the award is not throwing it away, which is sort of the role a potential standalone TWPD2 song will play: there is new music coming and she won't stand still. Just like an extension of the tour for next year. Grammys won't award an album released in early 2025, they will award a moment, and she just needs to create that moment.

Releasing a first single for a new album December/January just doesn't make sense. They're historically dead months and while I'm sure Gaga wants the Grammy, I don't see them desperately feeling like they need to time a re-release around it, because if it's to influence the Grammys, it should be getting released like, now.

I'd prefer two more 'Mayhem' videos then take whatever material meant for 'Total Mayhem' and evolve it into 'LG8' later next year.

Honestly if LG8 does follow Mayhem's soundscape at all I hope it's the more industrial sounds of Disease rather than the 80's funk/glam sound (even tho I'd love to see her explore the Killah sound more)

 

I love all the genres of Mayhem but the NIN-style industrial electro-rock of Disease wasn't explored as much on the rest of the album so I feel like it would be cool to hear more from her in that vein.

 

Maybe that mixed with some ambient electro-pop production and oh my bussy is shaking

If she's releases a sequel to MAYHEM as LG8, I also hope it'll be a more experimental side of it. 

MAYHEM is flawless tbh so I'd like Andrew Watt and Cirkut to return for anything coming next. They got the Gaga vibes better than any of the producers involved on Joanne or Chromatica imo.

 

I'm here for a collab with Giorgio Moroder on next album, if true I'm hyped.
