Godga may never even reach 20+ US top tens for all we know but at least her hits will actually be remembered.

You're honestly trying to say Madonna's hits are not remembered? Madonna.

But Lady Gaga's hits are more well known?

Sometimes people just be saying ****.

My post said none of this. No one is questioning Madonna's legend status but popheads love to gas up her discography and accomplishments. Streaming is a great measure of a song's longevity and Madonna's hits from her prime have factually had less longevity than other 80/90s hits.

Also I really don't give af that Madonna is a legend, I'm not gonna be gaslit into thinking girls with great respective accomplishments like Gaga, Bey, Taylor, etc. aren't capable of trumping some of her accomplishments. Just because she's always been the blueprint doesn't mean she's untouchable.

Hell, DWAS is shaping up to be a bigger hit than anything M's ever released and I'm not afraid to say it hihi

Hi All, newbie here! Really happy I managed to register while registration was open, so I finally decided to post! 😄

Spotify just launched its mixing feature, and I wanted to celebrate by putting together my custom Gagaween mix 👻🦇💀✨. And by custom I mean customized mixing (still polishing some transitions). It's full of Gaga's newest singles and some spooky deep cuts (no Bad Romance this time—keeping it fresh for Halloween). Hope Spotify fans here enjoy it, and don't forget to stream TDD! 🎶💿

Gaga's hits are indeed more well known today in the present times and a lot of Madonna's hits are indeed not remembered. A fact and another fact.
:suburban:

She does have some undeniable classics like Hung Up, Frozen, LAP, Material Girl, Like a virgin and Vogue, but most of her other hits are forgotten and completely irrelevant and even unknown.

but it's kind of fact that gaga's hits are more well known now than madonnna's hits? :suburban: that's not even shade, it's just a fact given the passing of time. who knows, in 30 years chappell's hits may be more well known than gaga's hits. doesn't erase legacy or impact :suburban:

Do you all think that the people who grew up listening to Madonna in the 80s are dead sisters or that these people are now listening to Lady Gaga?

:suburban:

though in the end, it's most likely that gaga's most remembered all time hits will probably be forever wedding and karaoke duet classics DWAS and shallow huh. :suburban:

TDD must be doing terribly if all y'all are talking about is Madonna :deadbanana:

Dead Dance, Madead, all the same

:suburban:

But in all seriousness I just saw on TOTC that TDD is only predicted to fall 4 spots which is kinda nice. Hopefully radio keeps it relatively stable.

Idk if they are listening to Gaga, but clearly they are NOT listening to Madonna either.

Madonna is the biggest female artist of all time but most of her music is a product of its time. She clearly hasn't transitioned well into the modern streaming era, something people like Elton, Queen, MJ, Fleetwood Mac etc. managed to do effortlessly.

the crypt keeper stench in the LADY GAGA base rn ew

With DWAS being Gaga's 4th song to land in the YE Hot 100 top 10 (and 1st at likely #1), she's now in the company of several MPGs. The following female singers also have four top 10s on the BB YE Hot 100: Ariana, Beyoncé, Janet, Madonna, Rihanna, and Sza (I'm counting Luther since it's going to end up at 2 or 3).

Songs if you're curious:

Spoiler

Gaga: Poker Face (2), Just Dance (4), Bad Romance (8), and Die with a Smile (predicted at 1)

Ariana: Problem (9), 7 Rings (7), Save Your Tears (2), and Die For You (7)

Beyoncé: Crazy in Love (4), Check on It (10), Irreplaceable (1), and Single Ladies (8)

Janet: Miss You Much (5), That's the Way Love Goes (4), Together Again (6), and All For You (3)

Madonna: Like a Virgin (2), Crazy for You (9), Vogue (5), and Take a Bow (8)

Rihanna: Umbrella (2), LTWYL (7), We Found Love (8), and Work (4)

Sza: Kiss Me More (6), Kill Bill (3), Snooze (9), and Luther (predicted at 2 or 3)

17 years into her career Madonna got a solo #1 with 'Music' and a Top 5 with 'Don't Tell Me.'

Lets not be foolish now.
