Born This Way (song) only had 219M streams in May 2020 -> 755M now in 2025

 

DWUW is rnb leaning (aka the dominating genre of the 2020s) and i'm sure would already have its tiktok viral moment by now given how good the song is. it will be 1B or atleast nearing 1B by now if it was still on spotify

Madonna's pure sales are still very impressive but yeah it's difficult to compare. Physical,digital and streaming all works totally different. Like for example Teenage Dream didn't used to be that impressive sales wise compared to the singles but now single units are included in album sales it looks like a much bigger seller. In the physical era a lot of huge songs had bad certifications compared to digital and streaming because people would wait to buy the album and not buy physical singles.

it is impressive but you simply cannot compare it to an artist that debuted in 2008  

 

even taylor swift or kpop groups that sell shitloads of albums would still not come anywhere near madonna's sales from 1720s  

Godga having impressive pure sales, impressive digital sales, and impressive streams.

 

Madonna doesn't have the latter two for obvious reasons but it's a kii the way her stans try to drag Godga like she has all three.

Whenever I see a "best selling artists of all time" list and I see someone like Ariana (no shade to her), it puts into perspective the impact streaming has had because that girl is nowhere close in pure sales to being "best selling".

I'm assuming she wrote and recorded the music last year. The article is very vague but it says she "will have a key role behind the musical scenes"

 

Most likely it will just be one song, but 3-4 would be really cool 

 

Gaga did have co-composer credits for Top Gun Maverick. Maybe it is one song that appears throughout the films score

I finally went to the Mayhem Ball a few days ago and omg that was incredible. The theatrics! Like I was obsessed with that intro and all the '"lady in red" appearances. I had seen videos before but being there in person and so close you felt that broadway-esque energy. It was all so well done. The details. The acting. The imagery. The dancers. Ughh all perfect.

 

In addition to that intro + Abra, I'll say You and I was also the highlight. It was insane. The Beast with the red moon background and duo guitar playing was "Chef kiss". Killah's scream was also everything.

 

Awesome experience. And I'm surprised that some fans were disappointed that Gaga kept the same concept from Coachella all through these tours. Maybe they haven't seen it in person yet? Cause after witnessing it, I can't imagine recommending some changes and other monsters not experiencing this masterpice. If you haven't seen it yet, definitely recommend even if you have to travel.  This is not a 'Ball' tour you want to skip. Only thing is that I'm sad now that I don't think we'll have another tour with as much theatrical, dark, and opera vibe in it like this one had. 
 

Anyhow, my girl Gaga continuing to exceed expectations 👏

I know that's why the digital era girls selling 100 million records during its short period will always be the most impressive- where piracy was more accessible than ever yet people still bought their songs. This is also why 21 will always be the most impressive and most successful female era to me.

The amount of forgotten "#1s" in the 80s and 90s with shitty streams- I know some females artists with more than 10 of them yet they don't stand the test of time. So glad you had a fantastic time  I had the same experience at my show. The Beast live is truly out of this world. It made me appreciate the song even more.
