It's not that Gaga fans are cringing to her personal songs, it's just that those you listed have some sort of things that holding them back from being more appreciated. I guarantee you had she properly sang Dope, 90% of the fanbase wouldn't hate it. Blade Of Glass is another one- whiny, nasally vocals, but the most offensive aspect is the melody. I don't know about you guys but for me, Gaga has the strongest melody game among the popgirls- and she chose the most generic melody ever for her arguably most personal MAYHEM song. Generic lyrics- I can get over it. So-so production? Eh but sure, but generic melody on top of those? That's overkill.

 

 

I personally hate Dope because the entire premise of the song is embarrassing and leaves nothing to the imagination.  You love someone more than drugs, you admit to all of the issues you cause, etc, but then she took a decade to change her behavior despite all of the resources she has?  It makes her look bad.  The way she sang it was the final nail in the coffin, and the first time we really experienced her overly nasal vocals on a song.  Her YouTube Awards (RIP) performance of that song is nightmare inducing.

what a mess! This is the first time the album version has charted, the single version has been hovering the 160's all day, so it's stable while the album version is growing, which is a good sign that the song as a whole is growing on Apple Music.

I think she intentionally humiliated and belittled herself in that song. It's supposed to be miserable.

my bet goes to Vanish.. i dunno, i feel like Zombieboy would be too similar to DD, it would be difficult to do interesting visuals for How Bad and GOE.. idk i just feel like she won't choose it

No, of course I'd love it but she's done way more than what's expected so realistically we won't be getting more mv's unless something unexpectedly goes mega-viral.

Vanish could be a tour video so probably that one (if any). I don't think she'll have time for another video shoot for the era.

It boggles my mind she pulled in Tim Burton and then had a video that's mostly in black and white. Girl, he's known for his color.

 

Anyways, back to listening to the original, superior version of the album.

His best movie Ed Wood is in black and white though

Genuinely surprised at her putting this effort tbh, and I'm not trying to be shady. You guys know what I think of her ethics. This is a step in the good direction. Hard working queen.
