Yeah it's a much better song. The only reason I can think is that netflix wanted another dance trend and Zombieboy isn't as danceable as TDD though I think you could still do choreo to it. BM isn't that danceable either and it was sped up for that reason.

I do think zombie couldve had smash hit potential with a "dead dance" level push.
 

With Wednesday promo, playlisting, Halloween season release, and that "fresh new song" feeling… it probably would've been enough. It's the type of song like abracadabra that engages all of Gaga's pockets of fans (casuals, super fans, all ages) and general public.

 

as a post-album single without the push, say in April 2025, I don't know if anything really had too much of a chance, but with this push I think there's a chance.

Even if she had used Zombieboy for Wednesday instead of TDD, Zombieboy wouldn't become a hit either.
