I don't think it's safe in a bad way, it just doesn't have the edge BM has and so I think it'll be more a GP-play rather than a song the fan base (and music fans outside the fanbase) get passionately behind like an Abracadabra or Bloody Mary

I don't disagree and honestly, I feel like most of the discourse around TDD is kind of pointless.

 

At the end of the day, TDD is a cute, danceable track clearly designed to be digestible for the GP, and that's fine. But it doesn't offer anything other than that, since every other MAYHEM's track is better. 

 

What it really comes down to is whether or not it clicks with the GP, since none of us are going to champion it the way we did with tracks like Disease, even when it underperformed.

 

My bigger issue (not even specifically with TDD) is that I don't think someone can manipulate virality and with someone like Gaga she usually goes viral when she goes bold, not the other way around. It's not a coincidence that the songs that later went viral were the same ones we fans had always considered some of her best. (BM, Judas, etc)

 

But we will see if the Wednesday's kids will make it an Halloween anthem or not 

The Dead Dance is clearly a Halloween song, I'd imagine we'll see a gradual push the closer we get to the season. I just hope certain people in management don't drop the ball when it comes to playlisting and whatnot.

And unlike Disease, it's well-timed and they're giving it a lot of room to grow promo, awareness, and airplay wise.

you have to actively click into her artist profile, click "browse more" to find the alternative version of MAYHEM to locate these two tracks like it'll be extremely lucky if they can even scan pass 500k

BOG doesn't exist, and you need to respect that the Italian constitution grants me the right to delete from reality any song I dislike. 

 

For the other two, I think it really just comes down to taste and personal preference. To me, HBDUWM and DCT bring something unique to MAYHEM that TDD simply doesn't. 

 

HBDUWM isn't exactly my cup of tea, but I can't pretend it isn't a ridiculously well-made poppy song, even if it's not something I'd put on repeat. 

 

As for DCT, it's not revolutionary, but the production style and overall vibe just puts me in such a good mood, and that alone makes me enjoy it more. 

 

Nice increase on Top Artist Global. Let's celebrate that.

I will say, the dead dance made me appreciate zombieboy a LOT more.

 

zombieboy is kinda just "better" the dead dance IMO, and I'm like wow… this song is kinda an 11/10. On release I was distracted by what I viewed as "bigger" songs like PC, Eden, VIY, Abra, and SOM, but zombieboy is kinda the perfect pop disco throwback dance song and is aging like fine wine.
 

I sorta wish she saved zombieboy for Wednesday in the dead dance's slot rn, cause I think the fanbase, casuals, and the GP would've all gotten behind it  

Zombieboy would've slayed instead of TDD
