It hit especially hard for me b/c it was exactly the kind of album I wanted following IASF!! it was like she heard my personal requests & made the album just for me. i'm sure ppl who begged for a fun music era and got it for Renaissance feel this exact same way.

Only thing is they tend to delay with big acts like Bey. Presumably to heighten the anticipation.

 

So, while it's usually anytime from now, it could go much later into the day.

There's a lot of articles about it. Also I'm a huge fan of Miseducation, but Lauryn is either straight up rapping or singing. She's not rap singing. It's a very different thing that Bey popularised on the early DC stuff.

 This is why I love cultural relevancy, the room was about to erupt over MJB not being mentioned.

In following Pop + stan culture in general, it was one of the first times I saw how blatantly people tie their like/enjoyment of an album to its commercial success and everyone else's perception of the project. Even the BeyHive.

 

The admitted messes of the start of the era (leaks, dad being dropped etc) and the lack of Hot 100 hits seems to still mar the perception of a project that along with Ren are her best bodies of work. 

 

Besides the amazing music on it, the era at large deepened my love for Bey because of how above and beyond she went to push the songs to the point of being classics today. Like RTW, Love on Top, End of Time, and Party.

 

A lot of artists make a point of avoiding their less successful material and I've always respected the fact that Bey gives the likes of RWT and Love on Top almost the same reverence and cemented spots as Crazy In Love and Baby Boy.
