  • It was the best concert of my life, bar none. Idc!    It was extraordinary, it was ineffable.  I knew I loved it based on the videos but I... Hey I don't know.    Best moment

I know this award is a joke but the point is, she has cemented herself in history with the likes of Whitney and Lauryn. And on top of that she won an award for a genre that completely ridiculed and ex

This retroactive editing is...Questionable

I think it’s nothing more than she doesn’t want any backlash this era so just fix what people are mad about and keep it moving

She said you won’t get another red CENT off of me. :deadbanana:

But yeah, Bey needs to chill a bit. Stand firm in the body of work you’ve curated, especially the post-release modifications are only going to cripple the output in the end. Energy is great the way it is. No one losing sleep over that clown.

The "backlash" is there and people were over it lol it's not doing anything at all but stroking the noise fires.

That on top of Heated:rip:, it's not helping

At least the editing of Heated was to do something good, take out a "slur".

She should’ve kept everything on there tbh. Society loves branding Black artist as problematic for literally the smallest thing.

Eh the slur thing needed to be changed, especially since it should have been dealt with when the Lizzo situation blew up. I don’t know what they were thinking. If you’re trying to have a big era in the UK don’t walk into unforced controversies.

The Kelis thing I don’t care about either way, but I’m glad she shut her up.

It's really kinda deeming the light of the era, this post release editing is just a ick.

It can be looked at two ways in the Energy case - she caved in to the stupid accusations or she just decided she wanted to remove the name of a woman who called her out of her name for no reason

Either way, it's not it

I'm glad she removed Kelis. Imagine Beyoncé not even responding you and just removed your sample from her work instead? which hurts more? trust me this move will sting Kelis more because all she wanted was attention and making it seem Beyoncé admired her. Now nothing is left.

The other word was silly but i understand why she removed it. If a group of people are defending themselves against slurs, Beyoncé as a black woman cant stand against that and i dont see why she would, it's just a word and she can just replace it with another one. It wont do nothing to the song because on Heated, that word was nothing, it was on her little freestyle at the end of the song.

I’m SO happy she removed that sample. The irony is that the song is called Energy and all that sample was doing was bringing negative energy.

Kelis is trash and I have really lost so much respect for her after the way she has handled this.

Its such a lose-lose situation.

Prob cause I’ve seen this before with other artists – when they try fix a mistake and openly apologize, the public still goes on about it til things die down.

I don't think her removing Kelis is about "fixing" anything

It was her response to Kelis

I am having another emotional breakdown and we are 4 days into the album release

LEAVE BEYONCÉ ALONE

Eh I don’t care about this “controversy” at least it will help boost streams for people to figure out the difference:giraffe:

I'm happy she changed both things.

For once Bey is responding to a hater, because yes, that's what Kelis is.

Anyway good, now people will go listen again for the difference.

And then that woman will have another video playing the victim and having a meltdown and repeat.

:rip:

On one hand it's annoying all of this is happening but on the other, it's driving up interest in the record and will aid in sales and streams me thinks.

Does anybody else also see a sympathy angle here? It seems the locals feel a bit sorry for Beyoncé, I rarely see that. Get those sympathy streams Queen.

:clap3:

Is ENERGY looking to rise on AM or Spotify? I don't really care for it but a hit is a hit.

HDD updated predictions coming in few hours today

oprah-jungz.gif

- the word spaz being removed

- the Kelis sample being erased

- Grace, Beam and Tems being added as featured credits days after release

What next?

I hate ever-evolving albums. :skull: Kanye started such a horrible trend with TLOP. Nicki did it too when she added FEFE to Queen half a week after the album was already out.

That PopMatters review better not give these undercover hater critics any ideas
