There is no doubt for me now the next two acts are  albums. Another writer also said he didn't make it on this album and said probably the next. She worked with Ryan Tedder for sure on one of the projects.  I want her to bring back some power ballads to her discography to complete this musical slay.

Nooooooo. For once and probably teh only time in my life, I want Beyonce to NOT release new music. :jonnycat:

This album ain't EIL or The Gift, like this not sumn they just made, this **** is in different AREAS.

  • It was the best concert of my life, bar none. Idc!    It was extraordinary, it was ineffable.  I knew I loved it based on the videos but I... Hey I don't know.    Best moment

I know this award is a joke but the point is, she has cemented herself in history with the likes of Whitney and Lauryn. And on top of that she won an award for a genre that completely ridiculed and ex

  • Potentially #1 in the US, UK and Canada in the same week

The numbers are incredible given the circumstances and the fact that she’s 25 years into her career. Hopefully they increase over the week though. HDD has a history of either lowballing or overestimating her.

Listening to old and new Bruno Mars to get a comparison point for Virgos Groove, and none except maybe Uptown Funk is rising to the level.

Like Virgos Groove is it's own complete MONSTER. It's the All Night Long (by Lionel Richie) of 2022.

What does plastic off the sofa mean though? It doesn’t even mention in the song :swan:

Okay, I have literally just returned from 2 weeks in Hawaii and being overseas for this drop was simultaneously so exciting, but so stressful :jonny: Fave moment was when I heard someone playing Cozy in the airport bathroom and we had a moment.

After listening to the album on repeat for basically the whole 10 hour flight - this is my definitive top 5:

1. America Has a Problem - Honestly SO IMPRESSED by how good this, I want to hook it up to my veins. Anyone who says this isn't the best on the album needs to be put in JAIL!

2. Alien Superstar - no explanation needed. Feel like I am floating during the chorus. :celestial4:

3. Cuff It - INSTANT CLASSIC. I LOVE the playfulness in the last minute of the song.

4. Move - Grace Jones... need I say more? Cannot WAIT to hear this in the club.

5. Virgo's Groove - This track alone proves why NOBODY is in her lane. She can sing circles and arrange harmonies like nobody else in the biz right now.

Grace Jones on a Beyoncé track with “Queen come through” whew impact and implications

The way I interpret the song is that, for context, plastic is kept on sofas when you want to protect them from getting ruined / keep them looking nice as long as possible so they don’t have to be replaced (particularly done by people with less money who can’t afford to be replacing furniture).

And the sofa represents her heart and relationship w/ Jay and how they spent so much time trying to protect their relationship and image over the years, but they’ve been through so much that she’s now comfortable enough taking the plastic off. Through the hardships and cheating and everything, she’s secure enough in their love that she doesn’t need the plastic anymore. Their relationship can withstand whatever bad things have happened and may happen in the future and she will never replace the sofa.

The lyrics from Verse 2 IMO explain it best:

“Oh, we don't need the world's acceptance, they're too hard on me
They're too hard on you, boy
I'll always be your secret weapon in your arsenal, your arsenal”

ohthats actually a great interpretation and makes a lot of sense

Church Girl hits different when you realise that in essence it’s about breaking free from religious brainwashing and trauma. Each and every song has a vision. I have a feeling people gonna start appreciating the lyrics a lot more as time go by, as opposed to the stellar production which doesn’t pull any punches and is easily the best component of the album. I knew I could always count on her to create a body of work that has unequivocal substance.

I’m watching this right now as well. He did a great job and brought up interesting points!

I love that he said she is more than just 'Queen Bey' and that she is more and bjgger than that.

Growing up in southern black households, grandparents would leave the plastic on the furniture.  I think its a nod to that

In Americas Got a Problem Bey is comparing her love to an addiction.  She sampled a 90s beat, popular during the crack/cocaine epidemic and the time period of the war on drugs in America.  Youll notice she mentions Tony Montana and the ex dealer is the ex gf

It’s also incredible when you think of the fact that it follows “Break My Soul” on the album. It even gives that song deeper context.

I agree with the user that said people will appreciate and understand the lyrics more as they deep dive.

taking the condom off, it’s in reference to old ppl not wanting you to mess up they furniture so they keep the plastic on it

The layers and intricacies to this album are truly remarkable. I think the visuals will help us understand the vision even better. There has to be a strong reason as to why they’re holding them back.

BEYONCÉ went viral and it was a surprise release. At that time, very hard to predict.

Lemonade was kinda like self titled + the impact of the film and the shock factor of the personal subject (Jay cheating mess)

Ren is more traditional and "predictable". I don't they will be too far off this time.

Just bought 2 copies of BMS. 1 from Amazon and 1 from itunes

Prayer Circle we hit the 300K mark 1st week.  Either way it’s all good. Best album ever serving longevity I fear.

Y'all @hiv we need to make a campaign to get BMS to #1
