Beyoncé's telltale signs she's mimming? The mic doesn't leave her lips. She twitches her head to the side a lot like Janet. Her eyes stay clued to the prompter.

 

Beyoncé has always lipped, she's just really good at it. She's not "off" she's just older. It happens to everyone. By the time this whole thing is done, she will be 45 and have completed 3 tours back to back while delivering 3 genre and generation defining albums. Cut her some slack.

My only critique of the CCT is that I fully expected the stage to be reminiscent of her CMA 2016 stage with a full band takes up the entire stage, entirely part of the performance. Vocally, Beyoncé is stronger than ever rn but this tour didn't call for some of the choreo and theatrics in place of live instrumentation.

 

I do think that needs to be noted going into act iii. I want to hear instruments. I want Beyoncé to FULLY interact with the band with NEW arrangements (not just WDYLM, Freakum Dress, *insert any performance favé has been doing for over a decade*)

 

I want more background singers, possibly even a choir singing, as opposed to watching dancers be almost comical during songs like JFF.

I don't even understand the "off" or the "phone-in" narrative. 

I was at this concert surrounded by 70k people, the show ran 2h and 45 minutes and she gave her all on that stage. And left all of us in complete awe. 

Bey's previous tours are all available somewhere legally or not. If this tour is not your thing, you can always watch those. 

 

 

 

 

Freedom getting another major placement and this time in a Leo movie

 

 

It's just funny because in the Renaissance Film she explains in full detail why she decided to "slow down" (the injury, the way that she wants to preserve her voice because it's her strongest asset now, the fact that she doesn't have anything left to prove and that she just wants to have fun and enjoy the time she has with her children) so I can't believe people are purposefully missing that point to have monthly discussions about this and try to undermine her.

 

Personally for me it's a blessing that she still goes way out of her way to bring this level of effort to her career when there are people way younger than her that already fell into a "comfort zone" and doesn't even bother to try anymore.

I'm probably delusional but I feel like Freedom is a relatively well known song. I hope it keeps aging well and turns into one of her fundamental classics.

+ judging by the tour visuals and the quality of Rennie and CC alike -> her creativity is at an alltime high

yeah, i'm confused because maybe she's not as energetic performing as she was during the Beyoncé Experience, for example, but seeing CCT live made me realize HOW MUCH she's doing through the show. she's always moving, hitting her marks, going from one place to another to start/end the performances. i don't think people really understand how well-oiled her + her team need to be to make this concert happen. there's always A LOT going on and she's the one pulling the strings

renaissance still the better trilogy tour imo.

That was precisely my comment when I got back from the Stade de France. TzTiz had the right word, relentless. She was constantly sweating and you could see the work she puts in. Kinda sad that some fans consider that as lazy or phoned in. It's just different than what you enjoy. That's OK. 

 

Maybe it's a CC music/Country bias because there's no way people will tell me she was not more energetic during Renaissance. That's why I say, and I hope no one takes it as shade, maybe this tour is just not for some. But the old ones are here and the next ones are coming.

Like @Mitsouko, he's not a fan of this music or aesthetic so he just sit this one out and waiting for the next one.

There is also no performance more old Beyoncé/TBE than Yaya/WDYLM this last decade and that happened on CCT.

She's probably saving a big band experience for the act 3 tour. It makes sense as you'd need to shake it up a bit doing 3 big tours so close together

Tourists will usually impulse buy the tickets anyway once they figure out there's pretty much no big name playing in Vegas.. Adele, Britney, Gaga, Katy, etc. are gone.
