Complaining from the balcony of ATRL….as usual

The choreo is good. It's not gayish, it's literally all country inspired moves and well executed.

if you are looking for Zumba go watch Katy Perry or Taylor.

Enough with the criticisms already

It's lady Gaga Stan talking about choreography, a response was not warranted.

I have been a beyonce fan long before LG was even a thing and using that card makes you dumb cause people can love more than one artist.

its not only me who felt that choreo did not justice the songs.

Woohoo for Mama Tina having a #1 NYT Bestseller!

You know Bey is going to want one of those, now lol

True, but I think with the whole "reclaiming Black sounds" narrative of the trilogy at large, that flavor of Rock is essentially a shoo-in. She unlikely to start doing Metal or anything super out of the box as it wouldn't align with the vision.

While I don't think it will be metal, I do think it will once again be a very expansive take on the genre (like Renny and CC).

is the new tour better than renny or equally as good?

I think they're both good, probably pretty equally, although I enjoyed CC more on first watch than I did with RWT, which took a few shows to grow on me.

Based on the opening show, the Cowboy Carter Tour is taking it for me, for sure.

On a separate but related note, I'm really keen to see/hear what the lead/s will be? Using both Acts I and II as the yardstick, she typically comes out swinging with her most commercial sounding singles from the albums.

I actually completely disagree with this. Break My Soul was really confusing and almost indigestible to the GP the moment it dropped. It was only after it sat with people for a while that it started to garner streams and higher chart placements—and even then, the narrative when the album dropped was 'oooooh, now I understand BMS!'

Texas was a very GP friendly song, but if I was in Parkwood I'd have made sure Cuff It was the lead for Renaissance and the two leads from Cowboy would have been Texas and Bodyguard or II Most Wanted

I guess what I mean is - if I was in Parkwood and was solely concerned with chart potential, those are the songs I'd have picked

I think we all can admit the only thing CC tour is missing is some hits and an acoustic set. Before I let go could have literally been irreplaceable. Also turn on the screens for fans up in the stands, that is kind of absurd and fix the pit situation.  Excited about night 2 regardless, I know there won't be any changes though.

Politely pushing back on this because IMO it was actually the other way around!

BMS was almost too GP-friendly (from the sample to how sonically reminiscent it is to a lot of general EDM). If anything, it was the very calculated isms she sprinkled on it (see: rap-sung parts, Big Freedia) that took it out of generic EDM bop. But generally, it was the most palatable thing she has given the GP in years (and remains as such alongside Cuff It). If anything, it was the Hive who had (and have) issues with BMS for the exact reasons shared.

Texas, while extremely GP-friendly (and enjoyed a successful run reflective of this), is actually one of her riskier releases. It, for one, does not sound like a Beyonce track at all. It also sounds, for lack of a better term, borderline gimmicky. Almost like an instrumental from a Donkey Kong game lol. Upon listening, I was very much: this could go one of two ways. The GP could eat it up or it would be a bit of a stain. Thankfully, things went well. But, even in enjoying the song, I don't see it being a staple on future setlists. It's a bit of an outlier. And once we've taken off our Cowboy hats and moved on to new musical pastures, it's kinda hard to see where a Texas Hold Em even fits into even a general greatest hits-flavored setlist. It'd actually be way easier for her to integrate Bodyguard, II Most Wanted, Jolene, and similar. And we've already seen, by how she did BMS this tour, that she isn't scared to leave off even recent #1 hits from the setlist.
