Yes, at times, her movements were very unenergetic and thus appeared lazy. You cannot tell me you enjoyed the setup for Daughter either. Sure, her voice was stellar, but the performance? The staging? It was absolutely uninspired, lame and boring.

Bey NEEDS to be held to a bigger standard and that simply was not on par to her own standard. We need way more drama for a song like Daughter.

Pretty pleased with my guess for the set list, act I is pretty much the same and if I am not wrong in the same order as I predicted (bar Formation). 

 

The main difference is that as everyone else I expected her to sing more of the major hits.

When I ask for hits on the setlist I was greeted with "beyonce doesnt need to keep doing the same thing"

 

 

but when I wish she changed up a segment of a tour she copies 1:1 from a tour from 2 years ago, that's still a problem

Respectfully, when Bey talked about "experts with no expertise" she wasn't only referring to wasps...

I will say I am somewhat perplexed by this Beyoncé because it's not like this is the first time she's had performances where she doesn't dance. However there is something jarring with seeing the contrast of her standing there while dancers are going into full choreo behind her. I expected movement like with her Stevie wonder performance, where she's captivating the audience. She seems in her head a lot now. The pizazz comes out in doses. 
 

Maybe I will see it differently in person. 

Ah I really hope a Parkwood employee is not sharing those comments with Beyoncé.

 Because most of those critics are constructive but some are...

She gave a stellar show, some of you act like she came, took a blunt on stage for 2h45 and left.

he didn't. she has a new creative director now, her name is Leah Tekele. andrew did some of the visuals (from the BEYINCE era) but hes not involved anymore.

As the budget and production grows, we lose some of her essence trying to make use of a giant ass stage. It's almost like she's playing an actor, trying to remember her lines as the whole spectacle going on in front of the camera knowing her next move. From the fish eye lens to the robots pouring her a drink, to the cigar, it's all down to the T. On the bright side, she has elevated her theatrics, it's campier than ever... we are getting what we paid for and no other tour is remotely close to her production levels. I still prefer her smaller sets like 4 Intimate Nights scaled all the way to Glastonbury, because they didn't have the most elaborate sets. They were simple, her peers back then had better production and they still couldn't compare to the spectacle she herself is. MCSWT was literally just the live band, some epileptic lights in the back. I feel similar about her medleys post-2014.

It's crystal clear that the interludes on this tour are from the visuals. They aren't even hiding it at this point. 

 

The only thing is, about 4-5 times during the show, we received what essentially were 2-minute previews apiece of the CC film. Probably 8-10 mins in total.

 

That might not read as much to most, but if looking at this through the lens of your conventional "film trailer", that's a lot of footage to show upfront. Especially as it seems to be high-intensity moments from the film (e.g. giant Bey, bottle cracking in bar). 

 

I say that to say, it makes me wonder if we are still getting the film. because both this and the large sums of visual we got from the RWT feel kinda preemptive of what would be a total gag if seeing in a first-time watch of the film. And I say that as someone who has been extremely vocal that visuals are still coming (largely because of semi-direct tea I received about reshoots etc). 

 

My gut tells me we will most likely get a combined "something", as the scale of what we're seeing feels too grand to be limited to tour interludes. But, with it being anyone's guess what is happening with the visuals behind the scenes, there's also the possibility that "some use" of what she has in the can is better than none at all. 

 

We'll see.

On deeper reflection, I'm remembering that, for all we''ve seen so far, she's largely kept anything choreographed/performance-y under wraps.

With the elusive visuals essentially being her today's way of dropping music videos, perhaps it is all still coming and this is just breadcrumbs of the narrative connectors.

 

shes building a multiverse. i think the film will tie it all together.

No, we can't because that's what the first shows are now🤣. It doesn't matter if it's still known as rehearsal dates or actual touring dates, the first shows will be used fleshed out the final product, because it's the omega! You may consider it something small as changing an arrangement or canceling an act, but to her, that can create an entirely new show.
 

She's doesn't need to announce it, because she's done since 2009 for every tour, mainly TMCSWT. She just showed y'all in RENI tour film how her sacrificing 10-30 in one performance to see there needs to be a change in the LED transition or the backing visuals needing to be tweaked for storytelling can create a better viewing experience and calms her nerves. She's literally involved in every little and huge detail of this 6-12 month endeavor, that's only 3 hours to us. We can't not charge her, at this point in her personal and professional life & career, for being keen to immediate changes in the middle of performances, be it opening or closing night. 

she's so petty for holding this hostage.

I think she does some of it to make up for the difference in choreography.

Andrew is still her creative director, though. He did more than just the Beyincé era visuals. He's done a lot for her in 2024, too. She needs two creative directors nowadays because she's doing a lot.
