Eh… he didn't need to release a statement.  Just keep it moving faster, close it up and then make a quick PR statement after he's cleared his name and brought that lawyer to shambles.

They shouldn't keep low, keep things going as normal, maybe include some more "family man" leaks here and there and remind people of what he's done for the community, some donations to help out with press if needed but keep up appearances to drown this out. Going fully silent would be bad but also don't want to respond right away. The young man line was a lol though.

I'm kind of glad we can see Jay release all his fury, like truly go and be the big honcho everyone claims he is and use all his resources to win that case. Obviously not the ideal circumstances but finally be that boss everyone cries about.

As far as the victim, nobody knows what went on that night and they better be prepared with their lawyer. Filing a second suit after the first one didn't work is fishy AF. Glad Jay called out the civil vs criminal suit.

Now Beyonce is media trained so she won't get any questions about it but hopefully this pushes her to release more work related things, the HT show will be great to drown this, Mufasa also great for the family, just keep the head high, drown the stories with other appearances and media.

Hive needs to wake it up. They have been out for this man and projecting rape and pedophilia on him mainly because they've been influenced by a prophetess on YouTube who wears a ******* table cloth on top of her quick weave.

A lot of times, with actors like Diddy and R Kelly where there is smoke there is fire. Can some one please point me to the smoke about Jay-Z?! Quickly.

With that said, he deserves a presumption of innocence until proven otherwise. Beyoncé deserves to stand by her man up until such time as well. If you all are leaving spouses over mere accusations by slimy attorneys you don't know what loyalty is.

Only the chronically online teenagers say this and super try hard feminists. I remember all the ladies of The Talk on CBS shamed Bill Cosby wife for staying with him. Months later a co-host of the Talk Julie Chen Moonves' husband had accusations and they both got kicked off CBS. She still hosts big brother to this day and avoids all questions about her husband but made sure to put emphasis on announcing her husbands last name when he introduced herself. Prior to the allegations she always went by her maiden name.

In the real world people aren't going to ditch someone they've been with for years because the internet wants them to lol. That's so dumb. Especially when no one is going to prison and it's all based on he said she said. People are so black and white nowadays it's cringe. And I could go even further into this but I don't feel like arguing with people who are assuming the worst of the worst is true.

Whatever the truth is, I think this is not the last Jay Z allegation we will be hearing about. And even if they turn out not to be true, he's surely done other bad things we'll find out about. I will not defend him, and I won't be as comfortable in this fandom as I used to be if large numbers of the Hive go defending him. I hope Beyoncé is innocent in all of this and doesn't support him if he ends up being guilty. I am not willing to compromise my morals, so it'a really hard time for me as a stan right now. I hope she stays true to what she has built her image upon. But most of all, I hope the children will be alright. They never choose to be born into all of that

Someone mentioning Janet backlash in her 40s and MJ getting dragged for the remainder of his career brings me at ease. I forget they were treated so harshly because nowadays those stories don't matter and their public perception is very good. Even after further documentaries trying to smear MJs name after his death. He is widely respected across all demographics.

Beyoncé being hated in 2024 does not mean her career is over. She will move forward just like her faves did.

And today I learned popbase is a Beyoncé hater. Who is safe to follow? Do we go back to popcrave? Support a small business with buzzingpop? I need a good pop news account that isn't just about music.

I'm with you on most of this, but I think his statement was near-perfect.

Beyond going out almost as quickly as the news hit (which meant it was packaged with the story/allegation itself), I think it's proof high-time celebs stop the BS attorney statements.

After a while, it becomes white noise that simply blends into every other legal statement. "My client vehemently denies all claims and looks forward to their day in court". Blah lol.

When the allegations are as serious and as egregious as these, IMO I think it helps to go the personal, first-person voice route. Tell the people it's BS, tell them how it's affected you, and tell them what you're going to do.

Had he gone the legal route, I promise you the media would be having even more of a field day than they are now.

Yet, because he came through with his statement, any outlet (even the messy ones) is borderline obligated to consistently include his first-person rebuttal even in their most salacious coverage.

People can infer and twist a whole lot from silence or topline attorney lines, they literally can't twist your own words.

So, they did good on that front IMO.

I think the way and the swiftness in how they deal with this will determine how things play out longterm.

In one regard, this is all rather unprecedented because Jay has largely been Teflon. From his brand to his businesses to his personal life. There is next to no mess. Even the infidelity was stage-managed almost perfectly to the point that we kinda know ish but know nothing all at the same time.

So, the fact this is actually a "thing" is already in a ***** in the armor.

BUT...

If, as they are, they go full guns blazing and succeed in shutting this down and even go the full 9 yards with this Buzbee guy (prosecutionally), it sends a message and acts as a deterrent to anyone else even thinking about it. It's not foolproof, as I think the mere fact the case was even filed could embolden others.

By contrast, Diddy didn't take Cassie's pre-gong-public threat seriously and quite literally activated every single thing that happened to him in the wake of that. Wild, as he literally knew what he did and knew there's evidence. Not to empathize with him (as he's trash) but he literally wouldn't be behind bars had he just settled at the point of her making clear what she was about to do. Pride cometh before the fall, as they say.

She's the greatest for a reason, we'll see how she navigates this craziness. The story didn't really blow up yet but they seem well prepared.

If its somehow true she needs to divorce him before he tanks the empire :gaycat6:

The instant career ending if it comes out the elevator was about this and they fabricated a whole cheating scandal to distract.

He should have never made a statement. In my opinion, attacking the lawyer will only cause the lawyer to bring more accusers whether real or fake and we all know with social media, the new courts are the courts of public opinion. This is all very unfortunate.

Beyonce worked too hard to build her brand to have it sullied like this but she's weathered hate trains before. Ultimately, I do not think she will divorce him or maybe I'm taking their music too literally. "I don't care if we on the run, just so long as Im next to you". I think she is so in love that she'd show Tina the door if she pushes her for divorce before she shows Jay Z the door. She's that sprung and truly crazy in love.

"In the real world people aren't going to ditch someone they've been with for years" yeah and that's largely because of patriarchy and the idea that a woman is not whole without a man lol. So many women would rather stay with an unsavory and potentially even dangerous man than be single. Almost like it's the great sin of an older woman. Some of us are trying to decenter romantic unions and stop feeling like it's a need instead of a want. There's no man on earth worth staying around for when serious convictions come up. If you think Jay didn't do it, fine...especially since they're only allegations right now. But Bill Cosby had several substantiated sexual assault/drugging allegations against him. There's just no real justification for Camille sticking around for that. Their kids are grown so it's not like she could say she stayed for the children. And she didn't even just silently stay - she actively chose to defend him and compared him to Emmett Till. Maybe she just doesn't want to be lonely in her old age and that's her business but of course people are gonna call her a bonified bird for that because that's sick, I'm sorry. That's not just a "super try hard feminist" take to think so.

Well. They look beautiful as always. Blue's gown is gorgeous. I hope her and Bey are doing ok.

I believe Jay Z is completely innocent and there has been a smear campaign on both Bey and Jay for a while now in this industry. He made it worse when he called them out at the Grammys. I also believe that it was inevitable when Diddy got arrested that this would follow them for a while because they associated themselves with him enough that the public see them all as a clique. I cant wait for those lawyers to do their job and clear this up. However let's just be real, even if nobody accused Jay, the rumors and smear campaign was going to follow them. It was all over Tik Tok a few weeks ago. Their silence is seen as arrogance by many so when Diddy went down and they said nothing, that angered many. I hate that Bey and the kids have to endure this crap but they will get through and possibly will make their bond even stronger. They have no friends in this industry. Many are only waiting for their downfall. I also think Yvette is pathetic as PR and their teams need to do a better job as responding to rumors and people trashing their names for clout. The fact that Jaguar is still out there unchecked speaking about Beyonce and Jay Z everywhere is just ridiculous. Who cares that the woman is mentally ill? sue her ass and make her an example that nobody can mess with their family name!

I love them always confronting everything and never hiding from it. This is a statement tonight!

You hope Beyoncé is innocent in all of this? My guy, what are you even talking about?!
