And it wouldn't be such a big news if he wasn't married to her. We saw how Kanye's allegations went. 

But in the last 20 years Beyoncé réhabilited him in some way, he's a family man now, a part of a power couple etc. He doesn't have the awful reputation of a rapper lamda.

I don't even know what to say other than I just really hope it isn't true, and I really hope Bey and the kids are okay right now. What a dark time for that family.

 

From a PR perspective I would be mightily shocked if a statement isn't released by Beyoncé before Christmas. This has already overshadowed her performance but to say nothing risks every angle of that performance being read as either a defence or acknowledgement of her husband's allegations.

I kind of feel like I agree with multiple view points that I'm seeing from the hive. Like, I hate how misogynistic people are being misogynstic by automatically saying that she's complicit based on nothing and trying to act like there was any validity to the batshit crazy claims made by the likes of Jaguar and conspiracy theorists (she is still mentally ill - this unfortunate discovery does not change that ). They weren't even together when this would have happened and there's no proof as of right now that she had any knowledge of it occurring prior to this lawsuit. And we all know that if she wasn't married to him, sadly some of these people wouldn't be salivating at the mouth ready to drag. Some of them just hate Beyonce and want to "justify" it. It didn't really matter how or what, they've been waiting and making things up her entire career. These types of accusations or lawsuits usually don't matter much but this time is different simply because of how heinous the accusation is. 

On the other hand, even if he didn't do it (I believe he did)....I don't think that really matters in the court of public opinion. It's a vile accusation that will leave a stain. I mean, the people who have always hated her don't really matter in this context but this will affect her legacy if she stays. Obviously my support means nothing and I'm just one person but as a lifelong fan, I couldn't support a woman who would stand by a child rapist. That's awful and disgusting. And I kinda don't think she should even stand by an accused child rapist because that would mean that she's willing to throw away everything she has worked so hard to build and all that her talent has done for her just because of a man.   I don't think she'll divorce him but I hope she proves me wrong. 
 

As a woman, sometimes I wonder if it's worth it to couple up with a cis straight man cause wtf  it's like some of these fools are sent on earth to tear you down like my goodness

Is anyone else deeply disturbed by how automated the outrage/anti-Jay sentiment seems to be? People actively "want" it to be true. I find it so weird. The bloodlust for a takedown. I think it's especially the duality of it all for me. All at once Jay is this revered, beloved, beacon of Black excellence who people aspire to. And yet the second (the literal second) the Diddy ish hit, it was "Jay's next". Note that there was never a concrete reason given. Just a plethora of "I can just tell", my cousin Pookie said, and Jaguar Wright (who the people toggle on and off from ridiculing then using as some kind of bizarre receipt). Even the sheistiness of the Buzbee attorney feels underplayed because the topline accusation is more juicy. 

 

While I've long clocked that people project onto celebrities (their hopes, insecurities, and all in between), it will never not shock me how haters actively make a point to NOT apply to celeb cases the logic they have to apply to their real lives. 

 

There is no way I could wake up and accuse a member on here of slapping me and it's deemed true by everyone...just because I said so. Due process and burden of proof surely are still a...thing?

I have to say… I expected this to get bigger, it seems like most people are actually waiting to see how this develops.

As said earlier, I'm ultimately Team Bey above all and hate how complex this is for her. 

 

I personally find the "divorce him STAT" rhetoric extremely dumb, short-sighted, and, at best, trigger-happy. There's no proven trail of guilt, so why would she?

 

At the same time, I'm fascinated about how they...but especially she... will navigate this all. 

 

My gut says she'll do (and slay) Halftime and lay relatively low until it blows over. Because any kind of tour, album, or visual announcement will inevitably either get paired in coverage with the Jay ish OR simply be overshadowed by it. 

 

But there are so many considerations. There's Mufasa, Blue's big acting debut, that would be wild for her/them to skip. Then the Grammys. Before that the Super Bowl, which Jay is always visible at given Roc Nation's involvement. 

 

Lay low, in one regard, feels smart, but if (as he's insisting) he's innocent, there's actually just cause to be just as visible as would have been the case if there were no accusations.

 

Looking further ahead, I generally take comfort in the fact that Bey has...options. Even it it all blows over, they can make a point to go back to what they used to do: still give power couple but more deliberately keep their brands separate. If it all goes Diddy-style wild, there is an easy out for her that protects her name, brand, and career (divorce). 

 

At the same time, I think about this interim frame. Does she stay silent (which in turn lets people infer from her silence what they will)? Does she visibly and audibly double down on standing by her man (given how much she's made that a central part of her art and brand)? Does she bury herself in work? Does she wait until it's blown over?!

The timing of her first live performance in YEARS being two weeks after this is really sad. I can only imagine what is going on with her and her teams minds at these rehearsals.

I feel most sad for Blue and the kids. I'll tell you one thing for free, I ain't dying on a hill defending Jay Z of all people. If he is found guilty, let him rot and Bey better make her choices accordingly or face (deserved) backlash. Until then, I will continue to think it is disgusting that Bey cops the brunt of the flack, for a males vile behaviour.

I disagree. I do believe there IS irreparable damage already done, yes, but it is up to Jay to defend his good name and his family. If he proves in court that this attorney and the plaintiff are liars and extortionist and wins a counter suit he can then speak out once the facts prevail in an extremely public way to clear his name in a way no one can disagree with.
