SAAAAME. The level of unprofessionalism is through the roof.

There was so much hope in this era after the promo run for the film, her biggest commercial ad since Pepsi 2013 and having a #1 single but this isn't even her usual self sabotage- the actual release has been comically sloppy with the streaming/cd/vinyl. 
 

I think the Been Country blogs possibly supposed to be a virtual album booklet and there's not much else to do there. Maybe they should've held off the physical release to fulfill the aesthetics that were so consistent in the lyric videos. They half axxed continuing the "RENAISSANCE" aesthetics anyway. The only reason why I brought a $50 record player from Target was solely for the vinyl because the pics were beautiful. 
 

Obviously none of this has hindered the album's success and commercial (white) appeal, but this release is just nasty work. There is no exclusive performance, no visuals, no tour- just pictures taken in the PW board room last minute.

they could've started by not posting pics we've seen for the past 20 years and random street signs or feet 

BeenCountry is one of their more puzzling decisions in the last few years for sure

they would've done a lot better and would have a bigger (albeit more niche) audience if they highlighted and pushed the audiophile pleasing side and their great sound quality instead 

I don't think that's why it failed though. They could have had that "crying about not getting enough money" thing and still had everyone involved actually committing to it, and it might have in time become a bigger force than it did.

 

Had Jay, Kanye, Rihanna, J. Cole, Usher, Madonna, Nicki Minaj, Alicia, Daft Punk, Jason Aldean, Chris Martin, Daft Punk etc. all really committed to not putting their new music anywhere else, the same "Beyoncé" boost Lemonade gave it might have occurred for their other fans, and it's possible that other artists might see what's being done and sign on, etc. etc. It needed to build and it cannot have just been built off Beyoncé's best and most ambitious album of her career, it was a group project where no one else seems to have pulled their weight.

 

And I'm still confused why it's Jay-Z's company but the exclusivity for his reaction album to Lemonade lasted about a week.

I think IASF won in the end

Instead of a pompous signing (like wtf was that, the Declaration of Independence?) they should've launched with a concert where they all performed. Absolutely insane that with their combined teams and star power no one was like wtf are we doing?

 

Every artist involved needed the humbling tbh. 

i just can't believe we have to BEG for YEARS to get a live performance and a couple music videos and now we don't even get a measly photoshoot for a new album anymore 

oh I see... it's been a week since release so we can go back to counting up all the things we don't have...

that would have been a great idea, and they kinda did end up doing this eventually with their TIDAL concerts which were really good, AND free I might add...you didn't even have to be subscribed you just had to go to the side and stream it...which maybe is a bad idea to get subscribers but it was a culturally interesting thing they did by offering that to people. Also it gave us some of Beyoncé's most amazing performances of her career.
