You're one of the most well spoken and articulate users on this forum if not the most.

The fact that a big chunk of the user base here lacks the intellectual capacity and attention span to comprehend more than two full sentences put together, let alone engage in similar manner should not make you feel any type of way. It's a poor reflection of them, not of you.

Please know that there are many of us that very much enjoy and appreciate your posts and your contribution on here.

Thanks for saying this!

It's not bad. It's not great. It's basically a good collaborative version of 444.

Forget "love". Timing is everything.

Dropping it post-Coachella and in the thick of what we all wanted to be the Lemonade follow-up era was a huge mistake. To the extent that the music on the project almost doesn't matter. People did not want it at that time and that's that.

I could have seen it do well around the time of 444. Maybe as a double-project, as you know Jay is okay with drawing on smart tactics to sel). But after BeyChella...we wanted solo Bey.

Note how no one really had much of an issue with OTRI. I kinda don't recall too much disdain for the OTRII announcement either (for those who will say it's the cheating confirmation that soured the Bey/Jay thing come EIL). I even remember a lot of excitement around the early reports of a possible collab album after the smasha that was Drunk In Love back in 2014.

It's more a case of purposefully driving against the grain of what people want from you at that specific time is unlikely to yield the results needed.

Plus, they were still trying to push Tidal up a hill. I often wonder if EIL would have done better had it been available everywhere from the get-go). Launch hype is everything and they immediately soured theirs when people realized they'd have to do ANOTHER trial of Tidal (before they rush-released it on other platforms).

This is well put.

I love the album, but I kind of view it as more of a mixtape era than anything else, seemingly for the fun of it (they have some political statements but it's not really trying to be so serious). The energy is very that of a summer mixtape.

imo I think Beyoncé still needed time to ruminate on what she would do next as a solo project though.

I've no doubt that post-Coachella a solo album would have been a success, especially if lighthearted and fun in contrast to Lemonade, but also feel Beyoncé being the perfectionist she is, coming off another career high with Coachella (and maybe even knowing it'd be released to Netflix next year and not wanting to do more until that moment was fully solidified) was more careful with how she'd move next (solo) in order to make sure she's continuing the momentum of quality and artistry she'd done since 2011. I remember thinking "how is she going to top Lemonade?" and it seemed impossible to even me, someone who is a very clear supporter of her choices...Now we know she HAS topped Lemonade but certainly she's done so because she had enough time and thought needed to create something that is at once fun and addictive but also timely, insightful, empowering and immensely artistic in a way she had not fully touched on before.

I hate it when people are mean to me for wringing paragraphs on this forum :(

It's disheartening in a way, but mostly because like... I'm here to talk, and talk a lot about things I love, not to give shady one sentence answers that put down whatever opponent is set in front of my fave.

anyway doesn't happen a lot but just did so just venting a bit to my home base :)

It never fails to send me how Tina always has her foot on B’s neck, I was living for that Sherri interview:laugh: she truly has an incredible support system surrounding her

Are we dusting off any of her (Destiny's Child) Christmas records yet?

Would a Beyonce solo Christmas album do well?

This was a big issue I have with it. It’s not a Beyoncé and Jay collaborative album. It feels like Bey is the collaborator on every song of a Jay-Z album. It was completely void of her own musical DNA.

I think that's what makes it interesting (and feel like a mixtape) to me and partially what makes it very clearly a side-project endeavour not meant to be her big return to pop or her next artistic/cultural statement post-Lemonade. She's entering the rap world, Jay's world, as if to show she can do it all and without having to adjust the production or feel of the tracks to make it more "her own."

I was at a party last night and the DJ played 2 Dance remixes of DC’s Survivor and Jumpin Jumpin. Both sang by other people. Beyoncé’s voice was nowhere to be heard :deadbanana4:

people were bopping tho because they were good remixes and since his mixes were from Spotify, I know the girls are still getting paid.

The DJ also played one of Kelly Rowland remixes and wow I was gagged. Kelly low key eats Bey when it comes to Dance music

one month since my show and im going through my photos and videos from that night missing her :gaycatx:

Bees buzz and so do fleas so I got right in!

The Sherri "RENAISSANCE" episode was absolutely amazing! Nearly smart move for Parkwood, but, again, why wasn't this level of some kind of promotion presented for the album? Do shows have to reach out to Parkwood exclusively? Did Parkwood finally listen to Twitter Hive?

Anyway, I know Beyoncé is now thinking sending Mama Tina to do her promo bidding will be a master idea. . .NO🤣! I thoroughly enjoyed her. She was definitely funny and Kevin also shines! She also hyped up the documentary side of the film and more & more I lose faith in the visuals I hold near to my heart. She better not f-cking play us, AGAIN!

Great show and promo!

The verses, pre chorus, and bridge of Hello are so good I just realized. The chorus is fairly weak

And you KNOW her only contribution was the phrasing of the “hello” at 2:51-2:52 😂
