Beyoncé being interviewed on the set of "I Got That" back in June/July 2000.

Jay-Z directed the video.

She mentions Farrah and Michelle being the new girls in the group, talks about the upcoming release of Jumpin Jumpin' a video she was filming at that same time, working on the upcoming Charlie's Angels ST and touring with Christina Aguilera later that year.

Very much a time capsule to that year (2000).

The interviewer mentions how beautiful she is in person lol.

Is it time to start speculating on the sound and collaborators on the next album?

If it really is rock, I'd love Lenny Kravitz even if it's just him playing guitar.  Maybe it's just because I think he's hot.

I can’t help but think that if a white woman had the exact same career path as Beyonce she’d be called the modern Queen of pop without any pushback. Beyonce is the only person that gets pushback for their royal nickname “Queen bey”. She suffers from so much racism when you really think about how she is constantly downplayed by non black folks. White gays have the nerve to pretend 2000s were all Britney vs Christina when Beyoncé chewed and spit them both out factually according to billboard. They erase her from 2010s and act like Katy and Gaga ran it when they both fell off a few years in and Beyonce was still there constantly making headlines for her MUSIC and PERFORMANCES. In 2020s and certain skinned people still pretend she’s not popular because THEY CHOOSE to not listen to her music. I’m sorry maybe I’m just in my feelings this week but every non black person that has something negative to say about Beyoncés success IS A RACIST whether they realize it or not. And IDC if they like Rihanna’s GREEN EYED ISLAND GIRL BIRACIAL PASSING ASS.

Like let’s really talk. Why do we let people say that Beyoncés commercial peak is the weakest of all the main pop girls? Who else had two number one hits go #1 for 8 and 9 weeks straight on their debut album? And the following album have the #1 song of the year? And the following album have the MEGA success of Single Ladies? You’re telling me all of those moments are beneath the peak of Gaga, Rihanna, Britney, Katy, etc.? Beyoncé was the IT GIRL multiple times in her career and her peak is just as high as any of the other main pop girls besides Adele and Taylor at this point.

Racism of course plays a factor in how people talk about Bey's legacy but a lot of it is she isn't a relic and an icon of a time long passed. No one talks about her domination of the 00s because she's still a mega successful act and there's something to talk about now.

All some pop stars have now is the past.

if she’s doing rock, I need Yola and Brittany Howard - ideally on the same track because the VOCALS we would get :jonny3:

Kara Jackson would be a more left field and less vocally powerful choice, but I can see them meshing well on a more subdued track - the Love Drought of the album if that makes sense

I’m so excited for whats coming next in our fav’s career regardless of what it is. Rock would be amazing but it’s also almost time for a jazz album from Beyoncé. If done right, she would EAT!!! She could also just come out of left-field and drop some alternative, genre-shifting ****. Either way, I just love how she gets more legendary with each era. It’s truly awesome to witness :clap3:

coming back from the *r*'s tour and enjoying the fact that there's zero bts footage, no montages, just the show :chick1:

If act ii were to be country and rock, I still think it's gonna be very Renaissance, nothing like Don't Hurt Yourself or Daddy Lessons. Just like the Renaissance sound goes through dancehall in Heated, afrobeats in Move, a bit of dembow in Im That Girl, Miami bass is America Has a Problem, 90s house in Break My Soul or hyperpop in All Up in Your Mind; I would expect it to make stops in rock and country. Like disco-rock or disco-country in a way: Hot Stuff, Heart of Glass, Another One Bites the Dust, Baby I'm Burning, High Horse, etc. or funk-rock in the vein of Alabama Shakes' Don't Wanna Fight... but through the filter of being produced by the likes of Honey Dijon or Arca.

She can do jazz when she's 60 and we are all 40 honestly, we need bops now.

still shocked and disgusted that she didn’t do Freakum Dress once… at least a verse and a chorus like it fits the whole after-covid party vibe perfectly

been locked up in the house way too long

I need an r&b album soon like an album full of baby makers maybe only like 10 songs

The updated European boxscores being lower than previously reported. This diva is still stealing money from the IRS :rip:

The thing with Bey is: She's an A-STAR musician, so whatever genre she does, shes gonna nail it.

That is also truly the best part about stanning her: We never have to fear the quality of the output.

Part of it is because she had two massive eras where she was the biggest star in the world media wise but the numbers didn’t reflect it ( self titled and lemonade). There’s no reason those two albums didn’t have multiple smashes and did 8m sold. I’ve always been adamant that long term her self sabotage would hurt her. She doesn’t really show up in top 10 anything anymore when it comes to the greats like Michael and Madonna, people are still chasing those dominations. At least she made it into the top ten tours. Hopefully it stays that way.

I need an r&b album from her too no shade. Listening to the full Donk leak is making me miss that :WAP:

not LiveNation having to revise the numbers... why? what was wrong with her reported numbers of the EU leg?

I agree and disagree. Her opening numbers for self titled and lemonade were SMASHES. Can’t think of anyone who outsold those numbers besides Adele and Taylor. Beyonce even beat out Bieber and Drakes HUGE albums at the time (views and purpose). Her problem is ironically she lacks longevity with her album sales but the opposite with her singles sales. She opens big and falls down the chart pretty quickly. A lot of the girlies can stay #1 on the album chart for a month or so before falling down. I think Renaissance has charted the best because it was ultimately about the music. Self titled itself was a gimmick. Lemonade was the biggest gimmick of her career. She scammed us all into buying tidal or a pure digital copy to find out what Jay Z did only to reveal half way into the film they’re back together. Once the media stopped caring about the Jay z cheating scandal the album dropped from the charts. She needs to continue to release REAL singles post album drop to keep the public wanting to come back.
