Especially cus outside of the Ren album cover, Bey's cover choices have annoyed me for so long. 

 

The Gift's was so random and non-descript, EIL the same. Even things like the holding shot for the Already video on YT is as if she doesn't want people to watch lool.

 

This cover is bright, vibrant, and will catch eyes on socials, on billboards, and in theaters.

A few thoughts on the trailer. 

 

I love it, but it's literally serving Homecoming pt.2. I'm used to Bey pushing the envelope. Surely, the innovation here isn't just it being in theaters?

 

Reading all the behind the scenes articles, I kinda get the sense that this all came together quite quickly. At least this iteration of the film. The shooting, the AMC deal, and the Dec release.

 

If it's solely and purely a RWT doc film, that's kind of at odds with what were told she had been "working on for years" (from Rolling Ray and even the initial Variety article). As that was billed as centering on the tour, the making of the album, deeper insights into her family, and possibly the visuals. The trailer gave some of that not all. 

 

I suspect there will be an extended trailer with...more. Something tells me the trailer isn't showing the tea-tea. Whatever that means.

Which performance footage are y'all looking forward to the most?

 

For me it's definitely Cozy, Break My Soul and Move  She better bring all the right angles and shots

 

Kinda anxious for Cozy and Break My Soul because I hope she doesn't do glasses for Cozy and if she uses that ugly bodysuit for BMS than the wiggle at the start will 110% not hit.

 

Move will be a slay I'm not worried about it (unless she decides to do the red Loewe but I doubt )

She gave you an album, a massive tour, and a movie/docu. Come on guys! Don’t be too greedy!

That’s cute or whateva. Seems like the kind of film that would work better on streaming.

 

My hunch is the film will feature the Rennaisance songs and not the catalog songs, and be spliced with doc footage.

yeah this just looks like Homecoming 2.0 which really isn’t very exciting (and at least we didn’t have to pay 30 extra bucks to see Homecoming ) 

 

i think the next trailer or teaser will show different stuff cause if it’s really just some bts footage mixed with tour highlights an her doing her best Maya Angelou impersonation in between ? lord

the fact that I’m finally back at my hotel at 4 am… 

 

paid $100 + tip when I finally got an Uber that didn’t cancel on me (while at single-digit battery percentage mind you)

 

the show was incredible but it was absolute clown show bullshit trying to get a ride

I'm not complaining, but I also don't feel massively excited for the tour film. Especially with that trailer, everything just feels very familiar.

this **** is already not exciting at all to me as it is 

I wonder how many cities she'll include in the film as it seems like she was filming for this before Houston. It looks great so far and it's intriguing that we don't know if it's completely the live show or if there's a documentary that's included or if the visuals are included too.

 

Between this and The Eras Tour - what a great time to be gay and a concert film stan.
