Ok but I need an announcement or confirmation  at least. A few more weeks after the tour with no indication is ridiculous

if they start showing up in theatres late november she’ll have to release a trailer in the coming 2 weeks

yvette hasn’t said a peep about all of this yet so that’s a positive sign too :rip: we’ll take the crumbs

Ticketmaster Colombia posted another sign that she is coming to the country next year, check their insta.

Regarding the film in the theatres, lots of the rumos we have heard were probably true at some point but bey is unpredictable and keeps changing her plans.

If she's doing Latin America, Brazil, Columbia and Mexico are countries she'll easily sell out in.

How about she releases the visuals on streaming and tour film in theaters?  I’m just having a hard time seeing the visuals be successful unless the rumors about actors being in the “film” was true.

Edited by sillycilla

I don't see a theater release being all that successful for her unless they double down on promo, which she's allergic to.

They've had more than a year now to make their move with the film and if this is supposed to drop in a few months I'd like to know when  they'll get on pushing it.

I don't know when YouTube stopped being good enough, I mean the tour is doing NUMBERS does the era even need extra cashflow? :rip:

Not getting why anyone would think the AMC thing is for anything other than the visuals.

It's the natural progression for her visual output and is one marketing angle she's yet to explore (even if she's only going that route because the streamers passed).

It's way more realistic to expect the visuals in theaters and the separate doc / concert film on a streamer at a later date, as there's no real justification for a low-fi behind-the-scenes doc to be screened in theaters. THAT feels more suited to home viewing.

if it’s just a one time only thing for a weekend i can see it work, especially if there’s big cameos, some acting (not hers pls) and the trailer looks exciting

i don’t see her releasing the tour so soon after finishing it + the visuals fit more since it was rumored she wanted to show them in theaters first before putting them on streaming

this is all so exciting :hippo:

Its so ez to build hype for something like this too, imagine her team dropped a movie ticket/ visual ticket with each tour ticket and with an unspecified date.

This would be so cool and keep anticipation open.

Honestly I don't necessarily see why the tour would be very successful in cinemas either... I think Taylor has warped peoples expectations.

As a fan of live music I wouldn't go to see anyone's concert film in the cinema other than my fav. I can't see the GP running to check it

Ultimately it'll probably just be a very limited release without the intention of big box office success.

A film I think has more potential but is really dependant on quality & cast. It can't be lines of poetry, standing in formation looking cute etc. It needs actual drama performances, plot etc

I’d rather have her doing the Homecoming release again for the tour film. Netflix + live album at the same time. Sometime first half next year while we wait for act ii. And I’m sure she needs to go through a lot of stuff to pick the best takes and so, it won’t be done in a month. She will probably be directing, unlike that girl.

I think they meant the Ticketmaster Chile post from yerterday. The ig is @ticketmastercl which looks like Colombia, I don’t think TM operates in Colombia.

I'm kinda with you in terms of being nervous about gross. Bey's numbers haven't been on front-street for a while. And the last time they were, with Lemonade's TV broadcast, they weren't anything to scream about. Since then, she's been protected by the fact streamers don't publish numbers (Homecoming, BIK).

Like you said, they'll have to go IN with the promo. Even then, assuming there's no topline partner (e.g. a studio like Lionsgate) and it really just a venue deal with AMC, then it really will boil down to how much tangible hype she can generate. Which is hard to assess. There's an appetite for the visuals but they are so late that the ship may have passed.

Even timing-wise, it's not really ideal. Thinking of big vehicles for hype, a Super Bowl commercial would do the trick. But that's after this supposed Nov drop. There aren't any award shows or any other big shows to attach to. If there's no sponsor, TV commercials, billboards, etc will have to come out of pocket. Which is marketing spend that then has to be recouped alongside the cost of producing the visuals.

I may totally be under estimating her power, as she legit sold out a world tour off an IG post. But, I guess we'll just have to see.

If this film release happens I hope at the end there’s a cryptic message to take into act ii.

No, touring is separate. Beyoncé could go along as she has and she'll always be one of if not the hottest artist on tour.

I just don't think she has that reach with cinemas/streaming services. BIK and Homecoming weren't runway smashes and Lemonade wasn't a record breaking drop either.

If they want a theatrical release we'll need several months to prepare, a big announcement and promo which would include Beyoncé herself promoting the film.

It could be successful, bur they can't do her last minute drop, refusing to acknowledge until day/week of promo pattern.

If Halsey can drop an album film in theaters then so can Bey. We just can't expect Taylor Swift numbers from her.

Yea, if the rumors are true we are going to need her to promote the hell out of it. She can no longer afford to do the bare minimum, especially after 1.5 years. I’d hope for bonus track(s) or a new single all together to help generate more buzz too. Some celebrity features would also be likely.

If this is all about the visuals, they might be delaying the announcement until the SAG strike is over. Unlike Taylor’s concert film, Beyoncé likely has actual actors who can’t promote their involvement, and even if she doesn’t, she herself is in SAG and couldn’t promote without permission.

i thought the strike was coming to an end ?

I think you hit the nail on the head. A "one weekend only" approach is exactly the type of marketing trick to ensure hype and hoopla. It also protects her from the demands of huge gross. If she does big numbers, great...the hype worked. If it does moderately well, then "it was just one weekend". It's a win-win.

The tour would do infinitely better at the box office (just straight-up the show, no documentary shenanigans). Which is why I'm expecting that for now.
