I actually don't want a biopic from Bey. 

 

Like someone said about MJ, with that level of artist (given all the intricacies, layering, and legacy protection that is a must), it'll be hard to ever really give the type of rawness an incredible biopic would need. 

 

In Bey's case, for it to be any kinds of good, she'd have to dive into the mess with DC, her dad, Jay, the hard-to-disprove favoritism in the group, and a bunch of other behind the scenes stuff that she's so skilfully managed to keep off the public's table. 

 

Then it'd have to explore her own shortcomings (especially on an actions and personality tip) which is at the antithesis of her career-long narrative of "perfection". 

 

IMO, a Bey biopic only works a) decades and decades down the line...as in several generations from now and b) probably in less of a direct "biopic" capacity but more of what Dreamgirls is to Diana Ross and the Motown story. So, "inspired by" rather than a direct life account. Gives the room for the mess, prevents any heavy-handed sanitisation by the artist, while being so clearly "about" the artist.
