It was my first deep-deep-deep seeded awakening to how people equate the success of an era or the narrative around it with how good or bad the music is. Okay I’ve found my people for real then, what impeccable taste they both remind me of summer (one when I was 14, another when I was 25) which is my fave time of year so I think they’ll go down my joint faves for different reasons. I never cared about the success of 4 because Cuff It a whole over a decade later has proved her singles pull was never in any real jeopardy just because she wasn’t playing ball with the trendy sounds. Although I typically expect Bey to deliver, ITG teaser did not move the needle for me at all. Its one of the reasons why all the silence and "delay" doesn't bother me, it gives me more confidence that what will be delivered will be on another level of quality vs a cute flash in the pan. Thanks for the update! On one hand, it really could just be tour announcement. But surely she's going for maximum impact. I say that because the following seem to be within reach of the announcement date: * Grammys (same week, she's strategically announcing BEFORE) * Visuals: not dated yet, but we all theorized (rather logically) that she'd use the visuals to plug the album x tour. My hope is that schedule goes something like this Feb 1: Tour Announcement Feb 5: Grammy Appearance or Performance Feb 5: Visual Commercial During Grammy Broadcast Feb 6/7/8: Tour tickets go on-sale. From preorder to general sale. Feb 10: Visuals drop igniting buzz around all of the above.
