That said, I know you’re probably joking, so I’m speaking more generally, but the social justice discourse always tickles me cause the US is just so much worse than most places. The worst thing Dubai has done is basically said “no PDA” and “don’t have gay sex” (which was also a law in Texas until 2003… and guess how many times Bey performed there ). Compared to the entire ****** up history of the US empire, e.g interned Vietnamese people in camps, the only country to drop an atomic bomb, bombing your own citizens, political assassinations, etc, it’s like…. let’s be ******* for real. While the US was pumping crack into black neighborhoods in the 80s, Dubai was just a desert.  There should be no moral conflict about Bey performing there. Saudi Arabia, Russia, and Israel maybe, but if we’re drawing lines, then her next tour can only have European dates (if you ignore the history of colonization, that is ). 
 

Maybe she can just do Brazil this era.

This and the Indian's performance pretty much showed that B is still loved here in Asia. Other countries that still loves B are the Philippines, Indonesia and South Korea.

I think the closest she came to boycotting a US state was during the anti-trans bathroom bill debacle in NC in 2016. And even then, she ended up performing but “supporting” the community with a statement and some links on her website, despite being pressured to cancel the date. 
 

Now fast forward to 2022, and the trans debate being ratchet up to a whole other level, what is she supposed to do? Boycott Texas, Florida, and other red states?  Or skip over the UK since their government just blocked a trans recognition bill? 
 

It’s madness. Bey is ONE person, she’s not the one to take on whole governments representative of the views of millions of people.
