She is currenly the #7th for most streamed female artist based off lead credits. She is currently #30 for all time on the platform based on lead credits. Her position shifts once total lead and feature credits are included but she's still top 10 for women and 40 overall.

So yeah. Theres a reason why stans are constantly in discussion over Beyonce's numbers. Cause they're good overall but she's losing steam compared to other artists who were frankly not on the radar 5 or even 2 years ago. So when the fans are in here discussing the obvious, we want to identify the error Parkwood/Beyonce made over the years. And it's not the "global hits" that yall like to drag about. It's engagement, lack adequate playlisting and branding that's hurting her going into the Gen Z/Tik Tok generation.

I was more looking for data which details the sudden drop in her catalogue streams after 2019 which people keep referencing, which is not necessarily the same as other artists out growing her.

The bolded is the problem in the logic for me. She's not loosing steam to her peers, she's "loosing steam" to people who debuted in the late 2000s/early 2010s, people whos iconic hits are in the streaming era and not 2003 or 2008. Aside from Lana everyone shes "loosing steam" to has billion+ hits from the streaming era. She does not. It's extremely simple :rip:

1 song from anti or any global 2016 smash has the same total streams as the  Lemonade album. Why are we confused or denying the central role of hits :gaycat6:

Beyond that the global market is infact a huge determinator in total streams now Vs 2015. It's why songs like Despacha which have barely reached BB100 are sitting at 400m streams in the same time it's taken BMS to reach 200m.

I'm not opposed to dissecting, but baffled by the deflections about her playlisting or general confusion when prior to Ren, her last lead single to launch on Spotify was 7/11 in 2014 :rip:

Beyond that there's qualitative element where people just have to accept that a song like DIL doesn't have the same reach in Indonesia as We Found Love or a Taylor track.

Drunk in Love literally charted top 10 in Europe, Latin and Asian Markets and top 40 in several more. 7/11 did well enough. You don't have tohave a global smash to get adequate playlisting.

But thanks for lurking and stopping by in Beyonce's Base. This board has been "investigating" and dragging Beyonce for over 20 years and she's still one of the most consumed female artists of the year without trying.

None of this means anything. Do you know  many irrelevant songs have "charted" in *insert continent* ...

If we actually look at it's international chart run (outside of the US), it's nothing to shout about. It's a strong hit in US, kind of meh internationally. None of this is dragging Bet, just saying once you take off you stan goggles everything is blatantly clear and makes sense. I feel like some of you are living in a bubble which you want the outside world to reflect.

She is doing amazing for a boundary pushing RnB artist  who debuted 20+ years ago, globally peaked in the late 2000s, and who for the last decade has treated singles like after thoughts and made her music hard to access. That's the last from me on her streaming

Ok well chart run isn't indiciative of streaming success in Beyonce's case. Despite the shade you're trying to throw, that is proven by her overall position on streaming. Many are just discussing a recourse for Bey/Parkwood/Columbia going into the 2020s. These songs can be better playlisted for the sake of her overall catalog. She is a Columbia act and one of the biggest of the new millinieum. They would be better off investing in her catalog placement over some of their newer acts. And that's the truth.

I agree with most of you. She needs more playlisting, on top of that it would be great if many more songs of hers other than Halo gained exposure as well.

OT: Of course Beyoncé has been my most played singer on Spotify. The top 5 includes only Renaissance tracks and Alien Superstar has been my most played song of the year :alexz:

Make from this what you will. To me its clear that keeping Lemonade off the platform easily explains 80% of her woes... And she wasn't riding high until 2019 and then suddenly, unexplainable dropped off in 2020 as some narratives suggested.

It’s unfair to compare to Lemonade since it lost those years in streaming. I don’t care what anyone says, she hurt her overall streams by not putting it on there. It would’ve been her biggest album on there. We can’t compare her to Taylor or Rihanna either, their music is so much more GP friendly, was DRIL even a single WW. I thought it was XO.

You’re right about her actual peers though, none of them are doing close to what she is.

Disagree. You don't need global hits to stream well overall. Beyonce is literally top 10 for women on every viable platform. She needs better placement of her singles and familiarity that can be pushed to the public at this stage in her career.  Some of the album's you are referring to have albums with 25 tracks, 1 song with 400 million streams and tracks with as little as 1 million. All of Beyonce's tracks on her album have over 30 million streams with 2 songs that will reach 300 million by next summer. And that's being conservative since we havent seen what Beyonce plans to do with the album or what could go viral.

I think it depends on how you see it. But I typically appreciated Bey's back catalog not being so focused on one song. And while Beyonce might not be riding high off a "global smash" from the 2010s, she did not need that prior to 2020 and that's the mystery of it. What can Bey do to refresh her catalog to Gen Z? We have discussed Beyonce's lack of visuals, performances and engagement and that's what sticks out to me to me with her vs her 2000s and 2010s peers.

The years Beyonce wasn't in the top 10, she was top 15 EXCEPT for last year where she was #20. Top 10 for one year doesn't tell the entire picture. You're posting several artists who had ONE or 2 good years and fell well below Bey in subsequent years. Hence why Beyonce still remains the 7th most streamed female overall on the paltform.

So I'm confused what you're trying to prove. That people are lying? That only top 10 artist positions at the end of the year matter? We get that Lemonade is partially the issue. But the lack of catalog push and engagement is what's hurting her more. That album still amassed 1 billion. Her side projects have also added up over time.

People are just giving their hypothesis, it's not as deep as anyone lying. I'm just trying to gauge what the actually truth is, which is why I kept asking for data.

From this (since no one has provided any other data on yearly performance) it looks like she's been out of the top tier streamers  after 2015. She rebounded in 2019 after releasing 3 projects in the summer, but those projects are limited to a more core fanbase (homecoming/Lem/The Gift). So the downward trajectory continued steeply afterwards. They don't have the same longevity as a successful singles or modern albums for example.

There were many concerned questions, asking "what happened?" to her Spotify numbers, and claims she was competing with Rihanna/Ariana up until 2019. These lists paint a different picture, she's been tapering of from them from after 2015. Where they've sat at the top and her out of the top 10. Only when she released 3 projects in 2019 did she climb again, but it's clear the major differentiator is them releasing hits & albums in the peak streaming era and her not. There doesn't appear to be any mystery, or a sudden unexplained drop.

Better playlisting would obviously help everyone, but it's not the cause for her decline. It's simply a tool to try and offset it. Unless you guys are seeing songs from 2014 which are less successful than DIL/Partition/711, getting great playlisting?

Beyoncé wasn't in my Top 5, surprising:skull:. She was at #6 for me but I listened to Raury and Duckwrth slightly more than her. The Jones Girls also beat her out. Really getting into old school R&B lately.

Stevie Wonder has always been my #1 artist. There just isn't a time when I'm not listening to his music. It's for the ages. Whitney Houston is another who is always near the top.

It seems I cooled off with RENAISSANCE after the first month. I listen to Lemonade and ST just as much as the album these days.

COZY and SUMMER RENAISSANCE were both Top 10 for me, with COZY in my Top 5 :alexz:

See,  at one point there were hard figures concerning the top 10. It wasn't soley about the ranking cause some of those numbers were only millions of streams off. Beyonce finished top 5 overall for female artists in the 2010s decade. This is the official list.

Article is now locked behind Billboard Pro.

https://www.billboard.com/pro/drake-ed-sheeran-spotifys-most-streamed-decade-wrapped/

Most Streamed Female Artists of the Decade (Global)
1. Ariana Grande
2. Rihanna
3. Taylor Swift
4. Sia
5. Beyoncé

This is where she stood in late 2019. Alot of this stuff is from old atrl and other forums.

  • Spotify’s top female artist of the 2000s decade.
  • #5 for females overall of all time.
  • #33 of all time.
  • First artist to get 3, 1 billion streamed albums.
  • most streamed album from 2008.

The numbers Bey produced up until 2019 were some of the best. Even when Lemonade streams were lacking. ST, 4 and CIL had higher recurrant streams and she was/is still the most streamed female artist from the 2000s decade. I'm not expecting Bey to be #1 across the board. But she could have been top 5 for the year had she put more effort into this era. #11 isnt bad. But she and Parkwood are doing her catalog a diservice with the lack of engagement and proper placement of her catalog. The other girls are much better at it and I see it everytime I travel.

With that said, I still beleive she can rebound. Cause I never thought Taylor would be where she is. Honestly.

Apple Music sucks. They don't offer 1/8 of the personalization or creativity Spotify does. My year wrapped is so inaccurate... telling me I only listened to my most played song 112 times...

Beyonce was my #1 artist in Spotify wrapped thanks to REN, what an album!

BMS #1 and Alien Superstar #3 behind LMU. Rih was my #3 this year behind Bey and The Weeknd.

Her spotty numbers are not great. If i remember well, she was doing extremely well on streaming until a year or two ago. Then suddenly her catalogue slowed down.

Her numbers went down before that. As said before, 2016-2018 was when streaming really spiked and she missed out on being in the club because she kept Lemonade off of there and, most importantly, she didn't let any of the Lemonade singles become hits. No hit songs= low streams and even ST was somewhat of a botched release. Renaissance is her first real NORMAL release in the streaming era under her name (nobody IRL is streaming a live album and nobody knows about The Gift). It's really her fault :rip:
