I know we’ve been around the bend before, but I think simply put Beyoncé reached the place she’s always wanted to be. Where she can record and release good music, tour, and make the rest of the coin on merchandise.

Regardless of what we want out of an era like TV performances and promo spots, interaction or activity on social media, she has resolved that to be the past.   She’s quite content to “only be platinum”

I think it sucks for us, but she in her mind is living her best and has the work life balance she dreamed of 15 years ago.

She has to know it’s going to eventually wash her out going on like this era after era. But I believe she feels she accomplished enough, sold enough, earned enough to let things follow the course that all that entails.

I’m not mad at it completely, I would have just at least like a couple TV performances ( at least 1 at the beginning of the era and one at the end like at the Grammy’s) and having the visuals on time, and it wouldn’t have seemed so - belligerent. The way this era has gone has been torture. But most of us have learned how to deal. Can’t do nothing else. Lol.

Tea.
Ill obviously always tune in when a new Bey-project will be released, but she definitely killed the joy for me of staying up all night for her or bothering streaming songs to the max just so she could chart high. Im literally over that, and that has absolutely to do with her behavior.

Honestly the older I get the less I engage with celebria, something I think is pretty common for most people. So this aspect doesn't really bother me. I barely follow any big artists on insta, i haven't heard or seen of most major artists outside of ATRL threads and occasional twitter controversy...

Considering she's top 5 in almost everyone in my social circles Spotify and the fact I hear her new music at most gay clubs I go to, means she's anything but a legacy act in my world

I think it only proves how good the material is. The fact that her recurrent stats are the way they are (slowing further down as we speak despite her having a successful album out) goes to show how people are having less and less interest in her as opposed to her new material/songs.

Once Rennaissances novelty wears completely off, she's gonna serve "has-been" streams and numbers, which further emphasizes what I pointed out. I agree with @Space&Time tho that this is probably something she truly wanted and wants.

Pretty much! Bey is out here creating the most incredible discography and bodies of work that you can sit and enjoy and dissect and study for ages and people are worried about spotify streams....which are pretty damn good all things said and done. Hits are hits and are important but there is a BIG factor of luck and timing involved in them. If bey has them, great (I think her greatest chance is still with a pop ballad that is very palatable) but its not the endgame here.

Btw, what do you guys think about the pacing of the acts? I am confused and worried (more than usual). Because we know visuals for Renaissance are not act ii, so if we get visuals next after such a long break, when is act ii? Act iii? I am not sure how I feel about this larger project and vision being spread over too many years. If this truly is one larger vision and project, it shouldn't be diluted to such an extent. But that is just my thinking.

Also please don't worry about streaming, its good and I believe can get better with other acts. Either way, one way or another she will out last the current stars... as usual.

All things considered this pacing is good imo.

Either she would of had to make the era front heavy ( 2 singles and potentially a promo track out by album launch)

Or she would have to abandon the era early way too early. It deserves time to shine.

Option 1 would work if she was active and present, she could have multiple songs charting etc but that isn't the case. So instead it's longer steady roll out. Cuff It will be charting globally until January at least. If she rushed through to act 2, Renaissance wouldn't have time to breathe and era would of ended after BMS

There's no rush for the other acts imo, as long as it arrives by summer 2023. They're going to so different that it's essentially different eras likely tied together through some loose concept.

I honestly dont know.. Its the first time that I really feel like we or maybe its just me who has lost touch with Bey.. I don't feel her presence anymore, I feel like she's truly a legacy act now. Im not talking about the music she produces cause it obviously feels super current, but the way she behaves. It's really giving "been there, done that", which I get, but it simply doesn't result in "outlasting" current stars or improving streaming. That boils down to visibility and engagement, and those two have been piss poor this era.

Also, I don't care about the visuals or any of that sort, but the truly off-putting aspect about this era is that we don't get to see her. I fully expected her to be present and visible with the return of B7 after going mia the months leading up to it.. But she served nothing aside from the music. There's no spark around her.

Again, this could just be me, but my disappointment in her (not the music) this era is at a peak. All we got as fans were BMS remixes when it was fighting for that #1 spot, some chosen TikTok videos for Cuff It by some random TikTok users, some radio engagement, a video collage of her celebrating something on IG, and a teaser that has led to more frustration than pleasure.. No performances, no videos, no interviews, nor personal notes, no activity... I really cannot understand how this is excusable by any one of you in here or anyone for that matter who genuinely follows her as a fan. Where's the "fun and joy" she referred to? Where's the fan-service? All it gives is arrogance and entitlement, and that to me is off-putting af (as a fan)

I think it's a couple of things but I hear you on the bey being so incredibly invisible and an era that supposed to be fun there is little to none fan service. I think it stings more because the beginning of the era made us feel like we were finally going to get all of that. We had boxes, pre orders, merch, a single and then remixes, then teaser and then bam everything went quiet. So I hear you.

But also this!! I've said it before but we are lucky that bey has found a balance where she can give her art (quality) and her family proper attention.

I will agree that the no visuals - after they were teased, no communication and no performances are frustrating and there is no fair defense for it. But I will say that after two months of no visuals I'm over it and no so worried. Mainly because we know there are other acts. So I'm focused on enjoying Renaissance and maybe even slightly enjoying the direction of enjoying the art on my terms and separating it from the artist (in our celebrity culture world its kinda a unique experience, especially on this scale). But emphasis on slightly! Our queen is frustrating but I still trust her. Call it bondage ?

And it makes sense when you look back. 4 was the last era where she really gave it her all. After Blue was born, her whole approach changed. I know people bring up Matthew, or issues with Columbia, bad blood with radio and this and that. But I think when she became a mom, that was truly the catalyst that put Giselle in motion.

After seeing her do her official 7th era like this, I know better moving forward not to expect anything other than good music. The next album - I think this base is going to behave differently.

True, and the twins even further "slowed her down". Post Lemonade is where we basically haven't truly seen her as before.
You're right with the following acts - I also don't expect anything anymore aside from great music. Let's hope she can continue delivering that at least

Not 100% but at this point who is betting on part 2 being another Dance album when all of the tea so far suggest otherwise?

whatever honestly. Can't be bothered to get excited with any "rumors" anymore. They come when they come, no need for "insiders" since everything is being delayed anyway for whatever reason

Kinda makes it worse that she is just holding on to them :sistrens:

It's obvious at this point that everything is planned because I've never seen people in the Hive coming for Beyoncé this much. Even Hive pages have labeled this era as by far her most boring.

I think this is what they want, before they eventually strike at least.

Everything feels too...calculated. but that's always the case with her.

I think she's obviously trailing off in relevance, but who isn't at this point in their career? To the contrary "has-beens" are characterised by the GP not caring about their new material and just using a few older iconic hits. Arguably we knew Bey lost some of her excitement after EIL and The Gift, but her solo material still packs a punch sales wise, just off hype alone. BMS doing 5m on its opening Tuesday is kind of testament of that...

Beyond that I think people are getting bogged down in very momentary stats and stan wars. Gaga was nowhere to be seen stat wise until ASIB, her catalogue material was nowhere til her recent tour and recent viral tiktok moments. Things fluctuate and change. Like we've got a whole tour, visual and new album next year, I wouldn't be worried about what happens when Rennaissances "novelty wears completely off".  By 2024, she'll have a whole new set of material to support her catalogue streams...

And they'll be fine, just as they are now. Stan wars shouldn't trick anyone into thinking pulling 4-5m daily from majority 2003-2013 material is bad. And personally speaking I don't use her older music much, Its natural for people to move on. Especially when they have distinctly different and exciting new material

By the end of the decade she'll be 50, like there is only one trajectory in terms of relevance.

Why does this feel like shade? lmao

Hopefully this is a joke or its looking like a Marvel movie becauese I pray this isn't about her editing herself to perfection :deadvision:

I agree. Beyonce isn't going to do more for her career than she did 10 or so years ago before she had kids. We have to accept it.

They can post all the arbitrary daily stats they want but it's a feat to somehow still being in the top 5, 10 and 15 on these lists without even trying. It'd be embarassdd if she tried as hard as others, only to still miss out.

True and not true. As a fan, I dont care so much about the stats. RTW was a joy to follow in hindsight because she still was out there performing, giving her all. I couldnt care less that it peaked at#29. Meanwhile Cuff It still feels like an album track to me that just happened to be successful.

Seeing how the teaser was dropped and nothing happened months after (+ no set release date) + Mercurios accounts of her constantly changing the anouncement of the tour - its safe to say this era has been a mess behind the scenes :rip:

The tortoise is has crossed a checkpoint, Groundbreaking!

w=500

We still don't even know when the tour starts. Despite the fact that it was offered as a gift at that Tina's event. The disorganization is on a whole other level.

Just put the tour dates out!

I'm assuming the end of the visual will tease ACT II, she'll drop it during GRAMMY voting period, then announce ACT II + the tour following the GRAMMYs

Any chance Savage (Remix)'s American stats are low key good? It has 387 million on Spotify which isn't huge, but I'd imagine a large portion of it is from USA? And then it was probably a bigger hit on AM. I see it's 4x platinum on Wikipedia. Is that the OG or the remix? Does Bey get credit?

As long as she keeps getting critical acclaim like this, she's never gonna change her ways :deadbanana:

I would assume that it would've needed edited frame by frame because of the new tech I think they're using for the visuals.  Seems like it may be out by Christmas, which actually is a great idea
