Her numbers went down before that. As said before, 2016-2018 was when streaming really spiked and she missed out on being in the club because she kept Lemonade off of there and, most importantly, she didn't let any of the Lemonade singles become hits. No hit songs= low streams and even ST was somewhat of a botched release. Renaissance is her first real NORMAL release in the streaming era under her name (nobody IRL is streaming a live album and nobody knows about The Gift). It's really her fault :rip:

Yeah. But since Lemonade wasn't on streaming it forced people to stream her back catalogue, which is why it was doing so great. It wasn't until 2019 her numbers decreased year after year.

Same. These acts will probably kick her up a lot on streaming

Ugh. I wonder when is it gonna be released. I still want more singles from REN. As someone said no hit singles = no streaming, abandoning the album after two singles will only make the album forgotten like her previous ones. This what keeps Katy afloats and is the reason why Rihanna is doing so well. Gaga's The Fame is doing 'good' because her greatest hits is all from The Fame like Katy. I know she want to be album artist so bad, but she doesn't have the passion and drive like Taylor.

I doubt other acts will help her Spotify streams. Streaming world moves fast and Beyoncé can’t keep up. I think y’all need to come to terms with that.

Well since then there are more and more new artists coming as well. We have Doja/Dua/Megan/Billie/Olivia/Cardi and many Latin artist.

Bey only did bad on Spotify; on overall streaming services she did great. Smashing on AM, #10 on Melon, top ten on Pandora etc etc. Shakira for example beat her as of lately; but B had 500K listeners on JOOX; #10 on Melon and constantly slaying on AM. Gaga is ahead of her on Spotify but couldn't beat B as well on those named streaming services.

In order to repair her streaming power; she needs touring (globally). Taylor was smashing because of Asian market and B had abandoned her fans for over a decade, how evil of her tbh (karma for her :fan:). She also abandoned her most loyal market the UK/Aus/NZ/Brazil well guess what? Those markets contribute more to Spotify than the US which mainly uses AM.

I don't care if she isn't 'relatable' but abandoning her fans from the UK/Brazil/NZ/Aus and Asia is simply cruel though. The Netherland/Ireland always stanned hard whenever she releases but what really did she give back to her fans? She only cares about Jay. Not to mention her last TV performance in the UK was in January 2014.

So yeah, she deserves the streaming numbers that she gets now..

I personally don't see anymore singles from Renaissance. Alien Superstar's time came and went. Heated could work, but I'm honestly not sure how the outro would land on radio. :rip: I could see a lot of casual radio listeners hating it.

This! I believe the damage is already done. Gen Z moves on quickly.

Beyoncé ended up being my #2 artist of the year all because of one song I was majorly obsessed with, and it was the only song I played from a certain artist. I will not disclose because of embarrassment. :biblio: However Alien Superstar and Heated was my number 2 and number 3 most played songs.

I loved my genre list though.

I didn't expect Spotify Wrapped to be released yet.. but, I was happy and not shocked to see Bey be my top artist and dominated my songs list :celestial4:

Beyonce was my #1 artist in Spotify wrapped thanks to REN, what an album!

BMS #1 and Alien Superstar #3 behind LMU. Rih was my #3 this year behind Bey and The Weeknd.

Amazing to hear, what fine taste!

I disagree with Alien's time being over. Remember that tik tok audience and radio audience are not the same. Even then, going viral on tiktok for 2 weeks doesn't mean you've reached your potential audience there. The vast majority of the GP have not heard Alien.

And honestly radio success is only one part of a single release (particularly outside of the US where it doesn't play a heavy roll in charts), the other is playlisting, centralised promo on social media, and simply exposing your music to the GP, which is important for the long run.

Since there were discussion about Bey struggling with Gen Z, one of the biggest mistakes of her recent career IMO is all of her alternative, experimental music being paid dust in favour of "on brand" RnB and Pop. She has one of the most creative discographies in the industry but you won't necessarily know from single choices. If everyone has crowned Alien an amazing pop song and on it's own merit it was the best performing album track from day 1 until cuff it went viral, trust there is something about the music itself which is resonating with people. Send it out, doesn't matter if it underperformd. Give people a chance to remember your music.

I see other artists sent videos to people who listened to them on Spotify this year. Bey sent nothing

1. she's 40 years old artist, gen z will not into her like that no matter what. lol

2. not only global market is not that fan of urban music or black artist in general, "interntional music" market is drivenby young audience.

so they're not into beyonce, same way as they're not into all the other old pop artists and many other black artist.

3. Beyonce is black and urban artist.  like all the other black artist, she has big steams in AM. her core target market use AM more than Spotify.

y'all need to get out of that spotify obsession.. lol

She can be so off putting ugh

The wait has been agony, but if she can manage to deliver amazing visuals and keep this era alive for months to come (if not years), I will sign up for more of the same. Dropping everything on Day 1 is exciting, sure, but it fizzles out too quickly.

I'm a bit out of the loop cause I don't use spotify or other streaming platforms but the fact that Virgo's Groove is barely in anyone's top5 if at all is truly repulsive

We deserve for the visuals to get FWT dvd'd I fear

Pretty much! Bey is out here creating the most incredible discography and bodies of work that you can sit and enjoy and dissect and study for ages and people are worried about spotify streams....which are pretty damn good all things said and done. Hits are hits and are important but there is a BIG factor of luck and timing involved in them. If bey has them, great (I think her greatest chance is still with a pop ballad that is very palatable) but its not the endgame here.

Btw, what do you guys think about the pacing of the acts? I am confused and worried (more than usual). Because we know visuals for Renaissance are not act ii, so if we get visuals next after such a long break, when is act ii? Act iii? I am not sure how I feel about this larger project and vision being spread over too many years. If this truly is one larger vision and project, it shouldn't be diluted to such an extent. But that is just my thinking.

Also please don't worry about streaming, its good and I believe can get better with other acts. Either way, one way or another she will out last the current stars... as usual.

I honestly dont know.. Its the first time that I really feel like we or maybe its just me who has lost touch with Bey.. I don't feel her presence anymore, I feel like she's truly a legacy act now. Im not talking about the music she produces cause it obviously feels super current, but the way she behaves. It's really giving "been there, done that", which I get, but it simply doesn't result in "outlasting" current stars or improving streaming. That boils down to visibility and engagement, and those two have been piss poor this era.

Also, I don't care about the visuals or any of that sort, but the truly off-putting aspect about this era is that we don't get to see her. I fully expected her to be present and visible with the return of B7 after going mia the months leading up to it.. But she served nothing aside from the music. There's no spark around her.

Again, this could just be me, but my disappointment in her (not the music) this era is at a peak. All we got as fans were BMS remixes when it was fighting for that #1 spot, some chosen TikTok videos for Cuff It by some random TikTok users, some radio engagement, a video collage of her celebrating something on IG, and a teaser that has led to more frustration than pleasure.. No performances, no videos, no interviews, nor personal notes, no activity... I really cannot understand how this is excusable by any one of you in here or anyone for that matter who genuinely follows her as a fan. Where's the "fun and joy" she referred to? Where's the fan-service? All it gives is arrogance and entitlement, and that to me is off-putting af (as a fan)

I know we’ve been around the bend before, but I think simply put Beyoncé reached the place she’s always wanted to be. Where she can record and release good music, tour, and make the rest of the coin on merchandise.

Regardless of what we want out of an era like TV performances and promo spots, interaction or activity on social media, she has resolved that to be the past.   She’s quite content to “only be platinum”

I think it sucks for us, but she in her mind is living her best and has the work life balance she dreamed of 15 years ago.

She has to know it’s going to eventually wash her out going on like this era after era. But I believe she feels she accomplished enough, sold enough, earned enough to let things follow the course that all that entails.

I’m not mad at it completely, I would have just at least like a couple TV performances ( at least 1 at the beginning of the era and one at the end like at the Grammy’s) and having the visuals on time, and it wouldn’t have seemed so - belligerent. The way this era has gone has been torture. But most of us have learned how to deal. Can’t do nothing else. Lol.

Honestly the older I get the less I engage with celebria, something I think is pretty common for most people. So this aspect doesn't really bother me. I barely follow any big artists on insta, i haven't heard or seen of most major artists outside of ATRL threads and occasional twitter controversy...

Considering she's top 5 in almost everyone in my social circles Spotify and the fact I hear her new music at most gay clubs I go to, means she's anything but a legacy act in my world

Cuff it is number 1 on Urban radio today! Where do ya’ll think Cuff It will eventually peak on the Hot 100?  And is it defying the Christmas Freeze?
