I know this award is a joke but the point is, she has cemented herself in history with the likes of Whitney and Lauryn. And on top of that she won an award for a genre that completely ridiculed and ex

If Harry Styles or Bad Bunny get AOTY over Beyoncé, we RIOT!!!

But I honestly hope Bey is the very last performance and if she loses AOTY, she pulls out of performing last minute bc she’s “sick” :alexz3: then immediately announces the tour right after. It honestly would be the perfect promotion and what is the Academy going to do? Reprimand the most awarded singer in Grammy history? :fan:

Other artist would be tweeting and Thanking God over nominations by now.

I personally couldn’t care less. If she wins, she wins. If she loses, she loses. Either way, she’s still the most awarded artist in the history of the Grammys.

She’ll almost definitely win a couple. But seeing the nominees for AOTY, I do not think Renaissance will win. I do think it deserves to, of course. But I think a large chunk of the Grammy voters would vote for Voyage by Abba before they vote Renaissance by Beyoncé. It’s just the way it is.

Anyway, does it really surprise anyone that Adele’s music is more appealing to a wider group of people than Beyoncé? A Grammys voters are just a smaller sample of the population as a whole. You can’t seriously expect Beyoncé talking about “I’m that *****” and being explicit with regards to sex to be more appealing to a larger array of demographics than Adele’s music. Adele literally appeals to people of every race, gender, age, and to artists of every genre.

Of course, the Grammy voters are artists themselves and should recognise the art, even if they prefer another artist and their art. But we all know human beings are not generally able to put their subjectivity aside to do the right thing and be artistically objective.

Either way, I don’t see Bey or Adele winning it. Like I said, I think Abba is the biggest threat, followed by Bad Bunny, Kendrick Lamar and Harry Styles.

Here’s how I think the voting will go (although we will never get to see the full results):

1. Abba

2. Harry Styles

3. Adele

4. Beyoncé

5. Bad Bunny

I just don’t see how she can possibly get more voters from Grammy voters than those I placed above her.

That’s why I’m not even the littlest bit convinced that she’ll win AOTY.

If she is going to lose, I’d rather it be ABBA. They are legends. Losing to Adele again, yawn. Harry doesn’t deserve it imo.

I'm not sure why you guys want her to be childish like The Weekend and Drake :deadbanana4: she loves The Grammys and she won't be petty, she will attend and will submit her songs for nominations every year.

First of all, Beyoncé has been petty towards the Grammys before. Second of all, separating yourself from institutions who historically neglect to recognize the talents of marginalized people is not childish, especially when they have zero issues using the same marginalized people for ratings.

They have played in our fave's face for FAR too long. They have made it more than clear that mediocre white musicians who can hardly hold a tune deserve to be awarded amongst their talented and deserving contemporaries MULTIPLE times while moving the goalpost for AOTY every single time Beyoncé is in the running. If anybody deserves to be petty towards the Grammys, especially at this point in their career, its Beyoncé.

Just saw the AOTY noms. I think aside from Adele being the obvious initial favorite and the fact that she has never lost a nomination. I think Mary and Lizzo are going to split the vote with Bey so that drags her chances down further. Especially Mary it’s going to be a problem with the R&B voters. Brandi & ABBA seem like dark horse choices. I’m not sure about Bad Bunny but he does have the history making card in his favor. Kendrick and Harry are also not looking good to me for some reason. I don’t see a path for Bey at all.

She said f-ck the Grammys in a song after losing back to back AOTY. :skull:

It is clear she values them, and that is perfectly fine. We can have our own personal opinions on the institution without trying to project a bitter image onto Bey.

Jay Z dissed the grammys too when he lost all his 8 nominations like two years ago. Last year Jay won a Grammy for that song with Kanye and cricket, nobody in his camp cared, not even Kanye lol. I think they are at a point where it's a silent boycott, they dont want the media and others to make a big story out of it or anything but i would be REALLY surprised to see Bey sit in that audience in Feb. Last time they went to support Meghan being nominated for Savage remix, they probably wanted to honor that moment for her but yeah we will see, i dont think she will be there, she will send Yvette and other Parkwood people with Dream to collect those awards.

Her company Parkwood is mentoring two new stars Chloe and Halle. I dont think as someone who founded an entertainment company, it would be smart to say out loud F the Grammys! She is not loud with it like Drake and Kanye but she shares the same opinion when it comes to that entire system. Jay has Rocnation and Bey has Parkwood, they cant afford to turn their backs against the entire industry, they must play the games at least for the young people they mentor, their employees who need to use these establishments still.

We will officially now where they stand this Feb.

I feel like both her and Jay are over it or at least know its a joke. Prob explains why they always show up late asf. :lmao:

I’ll be shook if she attends tho.

Alrighty! 9 noms!

I always root for her to win Awards she hasn’t won. Ideally she wins AOTY, Dance Album, Dance Recording, Song for Visual and R&B Song for Cuff It.

I’m surprised “Make Me Say It Again” didn’t get a Traditional R&B Performance nom, I would have guessed that would have gotten a nom over POTS.

Mary will take some of her votes but I still think Cuff It will win R&B song. Mary can take the rest.

I don’t see any GF wins, especially with how crowded it is. They need to go back to 5 nominees in each category. Break My Soul isn’t really a GF song but if it wins great. AOTY… ugh. Not even going to go there.

Now Dance, those are the ones im most interested in. Really just up against Diplo and a rehash of Blue. I think with her name alone she can win.

Be Alive… meh… it’s forgotten and bombed but also an Oscar Nom. Bruno might take it.

3/9

I felt nothing when I saw the GRAMMY nominations. :giraffe:

Anyway, sure, she's had some devastating losses but some of the best moments of her career and life have been there. Performing with Prince, performing with Tina... her first DC win, her first solo win, the night she won 6 trophies for IASF. It has a special place in her heart and she clearly doesn't have the hate for them her fans do.

I need to check how many different categories shes had nominations and wins in.

Didn’t she win Progressive R&B before?

That last time she was there, the Grammys definitely told her before the show that she was going to make history. Otherwise she wouldnt touch that stage. She really doesn’t **** with them anymore like that.

This year will be no different. If she is there in the audience, you can be sure she won something big and was told before

Dont expect any perfomance, though

I was about to comment this but yeah that’s exactly what happened. I remember reading somewhere that she wasn’t going to attend that last time she was there but the Grammys called her up literally the day before to tell her that she had won and to get her to come.

The Grammys definitely peeks at the winners the day before. They won’t call you to tell you if you won if you’re already confirmed to be attending, but if you already said you weren’t attending they’ll definitely call you to tell you to come to spare themselves the embarrassment of not having a winner of a big award (or that time for her, the winner of a historic number of awards) in the audience.

I think she’ll clean up in the genre categories and she has a shot at AOTY but she’s not the favorite there.

She doesn't have the hate, it's apparent.  It's like the only thing she shows up for.

She may not win AOTY SOTY or ROTY, but she may win all the rest, and take home 6 trophies again

She's torn, bur she doesn't owe them anything.

beyonce is not doing none of that corny Drake/The Weeknd mess...pls stop...ya'll do this every year. i remember when ppl were aiming for her not to show up at this year's Oscars too. these are the highest accolades of their fields...Beyonce will always show regard for them. its easy for outside people to be dismissive...this isn't your career field.

Down to #16 this week.

Drake, Taylor, Harry, Benito, Morgan, The Weeknd and Lil Baby aren't going to be going anywhere soon, so new releases or not she's still in the 8-10 range.

I'm hoping she can make it back into the Top 10 after the Grammys. I was hoping the album could hold in the Top 10 organically till the videos dropped.

Both Black Panther and Top Gun debuted outside the top 10 and sold less than 30K...despite songs are being used in the movie. The Gift meanwhile opened with 50K :keir:
