She doesn't have to do the same thing as him. But the point is that she's doing NOTHING. Yall got all these excuses for her being tired, wife and mother when there are literally so many others who debunk all these narratives. Especially when you can see her on a yacht, throwing a party or going to a musical.

 

Beyonce deserves her rest and flowers. But this half ass rollout is not it. Its giving "my work speaks for itself so buy my tour tickets and album". Meanwhile girlies who write and sell a hell of a lot more WITH kids don't pull this. I've watched so many try to put the pieces together concerning this era and she does nothing. Some were saying we might get something for the fall solstice? Well now we pushed it back and are hoping for something on the first week of October. Then it'll be praying she makes a move before Taylor. 

 

With that said, I'm inclined to believe we will get something this upcoming month. But there has to be better execution going forward. This is sloppy and only act I of iii.  

A couple weeks ago I would've joined in on the meltdowns, but my fave song from Bey in the past 6 years is currently smashing so I'm quite pleased with the era atm!

The disconnect comes from you mentioning what these other artists are doing. they are NOT Beyonce, Beyonce is NOT them. BEYONCE DOES NOT WANT IT. Go find another fighter. She always said her career would come to the point where she wants to release albums and then go on tour. dassit. ya'll can't marvel at the video clip of her predicting & achieving what she wanted to do before 40 and then disregard all the rest of the stuff she said in other interviews about what she wanted the future to look like. we're living in the future that she talked about 10 years ago. this is it & this is all.

 

this is the same woman who released a new song in the middle of Drake's first album week. what gives the impression that she cares about Taylor's new album or Rihanna's? i personally don't even give af about their new music. yall seriously need to wake up. Beyonce has nothing left to prove....they can sell a bajillion records & stay at #1 for a year. i swear Beyonce ain't moving.

#1 where? And this is why Beyonce is as pretentious as she is tbh. At this rate, her legacy will not be as strong as her predecessors. That is the truth. It's going to take more than cosplaying as Prince and Sade to sell herself as this unbothered legend who still submits her mess to the major awards, only to lose cause she won't campaign and knows she has a fanbase that cries racism and whatever else.

 

She's lucky the music is good and is trying to stick to the charts despite her aversion aversion for it. Now we're holding out for a record breaking world tour because thats her crowing jewel as an artist. We'll see.

The thing about the releasing albums and going on tour thing is that Bey wants her fans engaged.  She wants that IVP money.  She wants people to watch those documentary's.  She wants to be a cultural icon (by her own admission).  She wants to sell luxe items. 

 

You are not a cultural icon if no one checks for you.  No one will check for you if you are not engaging.  And not caring about commercial performance =/= no effort.

@giRLbye.is right. I’m sure none of us agree with what Beyoncé is doing but this is her career and there’s nothing we can do about it. If all of the bs she’s doing bite her in the ass in the future then so be it. This is obviously what she wants

This. The album has been out two months and I’ve listened to it damn near everyday since its release. No one else streaming it doesn’t affect how I feel about the album.

Yall gotta stop letting these other big names rattle you so much. All this kicked off again cuz Taylor promotes and people are excited about RiRi. Beyoncé has had her opportunities throughout her career to maximize and capitalize and she’s decided to just chill out now. It is what it is. 

 

She’s slowly pivoted from being that girl over the past decade and she doesn’t care, period. Yes, it would be easy to send **** to radio, do bts studio clips, record an acapella moment, or check in thru social media more, I agree with that and I laugh and smh at the decisions made as well, but she don’t want to do any of it.
 

We all know her approach isn’t doing her any favors in the long run but If she wants to do this semi-retired thing, let her get on to the fast track to legacy act lane in peace

Beyoncé shoots visuals for every album. Stop with “she doesn’t care” narrative. Artists that don’t care go on hiatus and you don’t hear from them. Y’all make it seem like Beyoncé is is Sade or Anita Baker or someone that stays under a rock. She still puts out music very consistently, whether it’s a side album or a feature. Even her side album received an accompanying visual. She always goes on tour, and attends the Grammys. Stop saying she doesn’t care as a reason why this roll out sucks. She cares! Her team has just been mishandling eras, nothing more, nothing less. Releasing an album, with an accompanying visual, then going on a world tour is way more effort than most artists. Other than this album she’s put a lot of effort into the the accompanying material, it’s just hasn’t propelled the era. The better question is why does she put effort in things like BIK once the era is dead, rather than doing something at the time of release?

 

How do you put effort into a visual album, but not put effort into sending the singles to radio? Make it make sense.

This is what I'm saying. They make it seem like Bey is some artist selling mixtapes out of her trunk for the love of it. No. Bey pops out and wants to push multi million dollar campaigns and release albums about knocking Basquiats off the wall. She gloats about cultural currency and being an icon. 

 

But wait. Bey just wants to be a wife and mother. None of the facets of stardom matter. Let her rest and have her privacy after a 6 year studio album break and 2 side projects no one really asked for and she didn't even promote. So what's exhausting her or stopping her from her "joy"?

 

No ones asking Bey to bend over backwards. Imagine saying people need to get some air cause they're wondering why Beyonce hasn't been seen since her album dropped 2 months ago. "Oh she's done enough". Yeah, withholding her music from streaming for years and yachting.

she doesn't and yall gaslight yourselves into thinking she does b/c she's not tired of the recording process & the visual part of things yet. once those things become daunting & unexciting for her...that will stop too & she'll be in full retirement. there's a marked difference from the Beyonce who admittedly said her 20s were focused on commercial success & establishing herself and the Beyonce of today. lets say the visuals were mishandled, okay, you mean there were no TV appearances or anything else lined up for 4 months?? come on...this is deliberate. the old Beyonce that cared & had something to prove would've been on stage at the BET Awards for BMS release and would've went on her bday trip the day AFTER her performance at the VMA awards instead.

 

she doesnt care...this as much effort as she cares to give at this point in her career. welcome into stanning for a veteran artist.

I’m actually satisfied right now, cuff it is smashing and promoting the album, and we got a tour coming. 
 

my biggest complaint was her best album not reaching people, and I feel like it definitely is now. I can bop in peace.

I literally cannot stop listening to this album, I can’t even listen to anything else besides this album. After waiting for 6 long years this album is everything I ever wanted and more, and that’s all I need. I refuse to give myself a stroke ranting and raving about all the missed opportunities of this era because this is nothing new. That, and I don’t care about “stanning” and tracking her every move. I will be more than happy with an album, tour, and visuals whenever they might decide to come out.

 

I don’t care about the state of her career or legacy unless god forbid I see the headline “Beyoncé filing for bankruptcy, tour a colossal failure” and she’s homeless on the streets and a forgotten fad like Keri Hilson. Until that day comes, (which it never will) I don’t give a damn that she’s a silent hermit, and I suggest you guys learn this quick or just move on This convo is past beating a dead horse, the horse is mega dead.

Let’s say she and her team is mishandling everything, what are you all gonna do about it? Stop supporting and spending your money on her if you all feel like this about it. I for one won’t be buying any more box sets, vinyls, digital albums or singles. I’ll just continue to stream on Tidal.

Mixtapes lol…cause why is a hermit indie artist doing Vogue layouts. That is what gets me ?!  It takes more effort to shoot the editorials than send a song to radio.  Its backwards and feels try hard.  Thats what I dont like.  

 

I wonder what act ii is gonna sound like.  I really like Virgos Groove and the production, as well as Cuff It.  Bey shines when she is doin funk and retro (see: Cadillac Records and Work It Out).  I really need a full CD of that energy.
