nah that's bullshit :dies: call me crazy but I want to see Renaissance performed in a well-produced, choreographed, high-glamor way. Tiny Desk has never been that girl and Beyoncé is not spending her own money to give her performance to NPR lmao. I also literally said Dua Lipa couldn't do Levitating justice... reading comprehension pls! not "Break My Soul" (acoustic) lmao. I much prefer her Studio 2054 virtual show or Grammys performance. Would love to get something akin to Studio 2054 for Renaissance. I paid to watch Studio 2054 live, I would do it in a heartbeat for Bey.

she gave us her gayest most upbeat ballroom influenced record, I don't need her to "meet the challenge of transforming her songs" into Hot AC radio P!nk "Cover Me in Sunshine" instrumentals. :deadbanana4:

1. You will get the big choreo and glamour on tour

2. Tiny Desk has always been that girl. Adele, Dua, Billie, Summer, Usher etc… have all done. All the hot artists and legends do it. She is not above it and helping NPR. Actually it would be NPR helping her. All they’ll get are some page views for a day or two while Beyoncé gets a boost in sales, streams and a crazy amount of good press for working with the public radio. Also Tiny Desk is one of the most powerful grammy campaign tools. She might finally win that AOTY

3. Break My Soul will not be acoustic, her and her backup singers will most likely give it a more Gospel twist.

Doing Tiny Desk is such a no brainer. Performing there doesn’t mean she wont perform anywhere else. I don’t understand the controversy :rip:

I can't be bothered about those last couple of threads so can someone summarize? Why are we talking about Yankee Stadium...? Any rumors looking actually promising?

Literally this era was so easy for them. She could've filmed everything and STILL hit her yacht trip. Just do a generic interview and upload in on YouTube talking about the album. Throw a 1 minute medley of fans dancing to the album on TikTok. Throw GMA a 6 minute interview. All from her HOME. I still remember Aretha PROMOTING the hell out of that divas cover album in 2015. She was literally EXHAUSTED but still did interviews all day long. I just think Ms Mama is poisoned by that husband of hers and his business mind. The whole Commerce/Art debate. It's so ******* weird. Let the world enjoy your music and videos as that's your job bshshshshshs idk maybe I'm trippin but Cuff It is giving fall-winter-spring #1 overall radio hit and if she misses this one....I'd be embarrassed tbh.

And even Jay did promo for 4:44 the year after Lemonade... its weird how she said she wanted to be like Prince and Sade and have music speak for itself without being blinded by the campaign and the appearances, but BOTH Prince and Sade did promo every time they released something - especially Prince who was constantly releasing music in the 80s.

Adele did it 11 years ago for her second album, which was her commercial breakthrough... Usher did it this year as a legacy act who hasn't had a Top 10 hit in over a decade... and Dua, Billie and Summer are not at all comparable to Beyoncé, but it's important to mention Dua and Billie's were pandemic edition "at-home" tiny desks when they couldn't safely promote their projects elsewhere, and both were in their sophomore album eras... and 2019 Summer Walker is a literal newcomer like she performed the first single she's ever released on there :dies: the REACHING here :clown:

Tiny Desk is not in any way related to Grammys. Lover by Taylor Swift and Fine Line by Harry Styles are examples of huge albums (from Grammy-loved, white, acoustic artists) that did get Tiny Desk performances and not much Grammy love. Chloe x Halle were also snubbed at the Grammys.

Beyoncé's on her 7th solo studio album, 25th year making hits. she's not going to a cramped office in Washington DC to perform songs from her chart-topping dance album—no way. I don't understand how that's a controversial take to you.

NPR still allows artists to perform from their home or other exotic locations. They saw it was a big success, so they kept that option. If Beyoncé wants to do it at “home” she’ll do it at home.

Tiny Desk is not related to the Grammys but industry insiders have noticed that performers during the grammy period get a boost. Same thing with SNL and CBS Sunday Morning. NPR, SNL, CBS, the older demographic loves these and that’s probably why there are grammy voters tuned in. Obviously there are albums that are exceptions

you know what's an even better way to promote for the Grammys? dropping visuals soon (ideally before Grammy submission deadline-Sept. 30) and a documentary of some sort during/leading up to the Grammy voting period (first round is Oct. 13-23, final and more important round is Dec. 14-Jan. 4). Taylor Swift's folklore: long pond sessions on Disney+ (and the live album on music streaming platforms) was a genius move. Billie Eilish tried to replicate it last year with A Love Letter To LA, also on Disney+.

Recording Academy has a lot of members--over 12,000 voting members. Even though it skews white middle-aged men, they don't always have the final say, especially with there being 10 nominees in AOTY and nomination committees gone. Voters do like being pampered (free tour tickets, invitation to documentary premiere, invitation to parties--like the Ren party in NYC) and seeing the vision behind the music. I don't think Tiny Desk is the right platform to showcase any of that for RENAISSANCE. this isn't the same Beyoncé that went to a hospital to sing "Halo" to her sick fans. much more grandiose, and far ahead of a Tiny Desk show.

If Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, Drake, The Weeknd, Kanye aren't doing it, why would Beyoncé?

This is just off topic now. If she does Tiny Desk, just skip it

I think the only thing we could realistically expect (as promo) is some kind of Netflix premier revolving the process behind the album in the upcoming month(s). That or the visuals all together. As far as performances go, I don’t see that happening until Grammy season.

Arguments/opinions you can't refute =/= off topic. :dies:

I never said I wouldn't watch it. I'm just giving you reasons why Tiny Desk doesn't make sense to me and why she wouldn't do it for Renaissance, in my opinion. Even if she were to do a gospel version of Break My Soul, she's much more likely to just put it on YouTube or her website like the Queens Remix lol.

I'm tired of people crying for promo and all they come up with is Tiny Desk, NPR, SNL, CBS, what old white men like, etc. Be more creative. Maybe she'll listen to y'all when you don't ask her of things she's done 20 years ago.

Did we even talk about how great it was for her to release Queens Remix as a web store exclusive for the first few hours? That generated over 30,000 downloads for "BREAK MY SOUL," which essentially secured it a second week at No. 1.

They've been doing some things right this era and we haven't seen the rest of the rollout and Grammy campaign yet. It's easy to focus on the negatives and complain but Beyoncé/Parkwood/Columbia are not stupid. I'm sure we'll have much more content and things to look forward to between now and January.

All I'm saying is enjoy the music & don't hope for a Tiny Desk (but welcome it with open arms in the off-chance that she does one). Peace ✌?

And then you woke up.

Why do you need to recreate hype/buildup for something that was already there when the album released? :ace: The theories are getting worse and worse.

She wants to let the album breathe, it can’t be nonstop promo. The GeePee wouldn’t like that. She has to get everyone clamoring for more, it’s marketing 101

This is the thing we all need to focus on.

watching the gift interviews and she was heavy on that "sonic cinema" and "soundscape", watching in our minds type. I just dont know what the point of the teaser so early on was. :priceless:

As far as traditional promo, I think SNL is most realistic one for her. It is an amazing promo spot for Grammys (if she can snatch the Christmas episode slot which is 1 week before final round voting ends :jonny5:), and something that isn't "beneath" her (lbr Bey is def seeing 99% of promo as "beneath" her :rip:), given that Jack White confirmed she was in talks to do it during Lemonade era.

The real reason she’s holding back on the visuals and remaining so effing quiet is because of the lackluster reception The Gift/BIK had. She put so much effort into that just to be widely dismissed and unappreciated.

Hmm I don't see the correlation.

Sometimes you lose, she said so herself. Not everything can be a success and certainly not when the artist doesn't promote or act like she cares about her music. If she cared so much she would have at least promoted it or performed it out of love.

And I don't agree that she put that much effort in TG, BIK maybe but TG no.

I can't believe the back and forth over promo's slots. :rip:

I am also quite surprised how prevalent the idea that promo's slot are beneath artists is prevalent here. No one is above promoting their music, be it VMA's, Grammy's, BET, Tiny Desk or whatever.

She likes to watch chart hive squirm. But even if she never does send Cuff It or AS to radio it won’t be as bad as we think as long as Act 2 and 3 are still on the horizon. It’s clear that she’s just avoiding overexposure between each act. Not many artist are able to have instant cult classics like Bey and she practically owned the summer with the album in its entirety at bars and clubs. We are lucky to still be able to experience that after all these years, so it could be worse. The album could have flopped.

Our anti-socialist, capitalist queen is so out of touch at this point, it’s very sad. Imagine how nice it would be if she sent signed personal vinyls to a selection of longtime fans as opposed to her very rich and successful friends.

Instead, she cancelled the vinyl orders that many hive members were waiting a very long time for. Really, if you don’t laugh you’ll cry.

I was kidding for the most part. Bey is just being Bey atp, but I do think she she put tons of effort into the TG/BIK tho. She released the visuals a year later and dedicated a BTS documentary on the process. Her heart and soul was definitely in it.

Yes, this I can agree with.

I really wanna know what Megan was covering with her hand on the cover… what could B have possibly written that needed hiding? “thank you for being in the video for thique?” “thank you for featuring on [act ii song]?” “thanks for babysitting sir and rumi?” what is IT
