I didn't like this move by Adele at all. You win a Grammy and put the spotlight on the pregnant woman who lost to you? who does that? her pathetic speech didn't move me at all. I'm glad Beyoncé is not personally friends with these clowns, always trying to use her name for some crap. Like take your award and go. Who cares about your big speech about why she should win a Grammy? Beyoncé will never feel bitter about another artist winning, her problem is the system being run by people who play inside politics. It's never about the other artists winning, she respects artistry and would never hold anything against other artists.

If only she could pull a Drake and not submit at all to the Grammys that would be awesome. I just dont want to go through that circus with Adele again. Sadly i know she will submit to support the people she worked with on this album. A damn shame.

Yep, and it actually got Beyoncé dragged too :rip:

The whole thing was cringy, and the black friends comment :deadbanana2:

Taylor Swift doing 50k pre-orders in ONE hour. :deadbanana4:

Well, it's officially Taylor season, the album's been out a whole month anyway. On to ACT II :rip:

Beyonce could have also done well on pre orders if her team were prepared.

Taylor is infintely more successful commercially speaking than Bey. Look at her recurrent streams, the way love, reputation, 1989, etc are holding up. Shes absolutely demolishing Bey. Also touring wise.

The crazy part about it all is if Beyonce and Parkwood put a little more effort into the promo game she would do a lot better than currently.

I don’t disagree, but she played the visibility game in 2013 and still lost to Beck. I don’t think there are any guarantees, and she’s given up on playing the game only to lose again.

Did she though? After Drunk in Love, what was the rest of the single pushes? Pretty hurts to rnb? Like others have pointed out her eras decline right after release. The stans are the ones that talk about her greatest work and growth. Meanwhile the GP is still stuck on Single Ladies, Halo, and Crazy in Love because that was the most visible she's ever been.

The thing thats very apparent to me is how none of her older stuff increased in streams. This means while pretty much all of Hive is on board, the new listeners fell 0 urge to go back to her older Hits.

If u compare this to Taylor who sees a HUGE spike in recurrent streams whenever she releases a new project, u know sth is going wrong. Same goes for the Duas, Billie and I'd bet even Rihanna if she decides to release new music

Y'all are being too damn dramatic for no reason.

We finally just got an album after six years of waiting, plus the visuals will be released anytime soon, on top of that we have to look forward to two more albums that are going to drop before next summer AND this is how y'all say thanks :skull:

No respect whatsoever.

Partition did fine & charted for 21 weeks

7/11 was also a hit that closed the era on the PLATINUM edition

She hasnt even announced what the 2nd single is yet:skull:

What should I respect her for?

She treats her albums like I treat my ****: It's a build up, then the release which feels great and then it goes down the drain onto the next production

I think this is a valid discussion as long as no one is being disrespectful

Partition could've done more though. It's arguably the best song (along with Blow) from that era.

7/11 is another song that could've performed better had she not been so unconventional.

That's the issue here.

well at least base is getting activé again. we usually only have like 3 browsers and that's only a month after the album release. :deadbanana:

Not going to lie, this has been a concern of mine for a while. But again I do think it comes back to lack of visibility and out of reach Prince dynamic she's been on.

Why do you think Madonna and MJ dominated the greatest pop star/artists of all time conversation for so long and Prince was always left out for the most part or thrown in after them? Gen Z is moving a lot different than previous generations and Bey should be careful. That's just my thoughts as a fan.

The album is spectacular, and if she takes her time it means that the visuals will be worth the wait.

The video for BMS has been ready for a while. She hasn't released it yet simply because she's respecting her vision, in other words it makes sense to drop it along with the entire thing.

She doesn't follow anyone's rules, she's been making her own rules since 4 and she clearly will carry on doing so.

Trigger Warning: Mother of three enjoying herself after working nonstop for the majority of her life

Honestly, it's whatever with her not engaging, the problem is, that will eventually reflect in her touring numbers (just as it has with her streaming numbers), and her future projects.  Y'all may not think it's a big deal now, but you can only have big budget projects for so long until you can't, and she's shortening that for some strange reason.

She's definitely going to remain on vacation past her birthday. Even though Beyonce has a team they aren't going to make any moves without her approval. So waiting on second single most likely won't come for another month.

Move, Heated, and VG playing in a 3 way loop has me in a chokehold these last 24 hours...sorry to the other songs rn

No lies detected!! Why don't people see past the frustration and get where the concern is coming from?

Coldplay was still promoting hits way past their prime and due to that they are selling out stadiums worldwide. It's twofold, there's only so much the stans can do. You do need the general public engaged as well.

Prince did not make cookie cutter family pop songs like they did...Prince was the catalyst for mandated "parental advisory" that's still in effect on albums are now. He was way more explicit, more experimental, anti-industry and that had an effect on his mass appeal. But Prince is absolutely seen as one of the greatest artists of all time. And just like Prince, Beyonce doesn't give a **** about none of this arbitrary stuff.

Yeah, I'm not quite sure.  Like some of this stuff takes hardly any effort from her, like promoting songs to radio, or whatever.  The material is GOOD, so it's not like you need to do 50 radio interviews, you just need to give it to them.  Alien Superstar is viral (or was), you can easily take advantage of that without performing at the VMAs.  Why not release a teaser of the AS video, with a hard hitting dance clip to help push it instead of ITG?  I mean once it's no longer viral, it's no longer viral.

The album on this trajectory will probably just hit platinum, which is cool, but the next one will do even less.

All I know is chart hive has been right for over 10 years now. Saw the streaming problems coming a mile away.

I don’t think it’s complaining to question the strategy especially 2 months out. I don’t think Yvonne should have implied things were going to be different if they were going to do nothing. That’s why I do believe something must have changed last minute. Fans defending them can’t explain away the lack of a follow up single or music videos.

My concern has been AOTY. Maybe they realized it’s going to bad bunny, Harry, or Adele. The difference between those albums and Renaissance are not just accessibility, it’s VISIBILITY, multiple hits, chart domination, impact, and promo. Renaissance is going down the charts and the current viral songs will also disappear without the assistance of radio push and visuals.

I'm not sure on a lot of things, but what I am sure of? Bad Bunny not winning AOTY. He can do 100k every week till the end of the year and he still won't win.

Partition performed to its potential. Urban & Rhythmic played it & its streams were ok

The only thing she did wrong was for 7/11, it missed a Top 10 debut cuz it wasnt released on a Friday

Okay, and now what?

I was totally on board with the meltdowns when we were six years out from an album and stuck in a perpetual Ivy Park era, but she JUST served one of the best albums of her career. This isn't even tangentially your career. Parkwood employees seem pretty happy and the boss is clearly content given she's yachting half the world away from home.

She said outright we were going to take our time and dropped a teaser to show us all the visuals we're getting. The rest of it is just noise.

Beyonce got a #1 song & a #1 album...nothing else really needs to come from this era

we already have the full album to listen too...who gives af about what a 2nd single is at this point
