No, I love it. I think I may even like it more than needy. I love how it captures just how emotive she is in her music and her strength in singing about personal things that happen to her.

 

I lowkey could see parts of it going viral on tiktok but I hope she never finds out it leaked cause part of it feels very "voice note meant to be recorded only for self".

That's sooo true. And I was never a big needy fan tbh. 

 

This song, remember and ghostin really demonstrate a huge amount of emotional maturity. I almost feel uncomfortable that we got to hear them because they're so intensely private

The way ghostin had everyone speculating from the title that it would be her dragging Pete only for it to feel like being hit by a ton of bricks for it to end up an apology to Pete. 

 

Her describing things as intimate and personal as worrying that her crying in bed at night over Mac dying would wake Pete up or the guilt she felt, even in her own suffering, that being so unconsolable about Mac could make Pete feel like their relationship had no future. 

 

That kind of consideration and emotional maturity I honestly don't think I've ever heard in a pop song before. The "I'm a girl with a whole lot of baggage" line repeating feeling like her pleading for him to not let her trauma define who she is as a person and what they could be. 

 

That + the 'on the brighter side' ethos of thank u, next's title track are what I also hear in Outgrown.
