MPG last #1 in Germany. Any surprises?

Featured Replies

German number 1s are notoriously difficult to achieve for international artists.

When was your fave's last number 1?

Texas Hold 'Em peaked at #4 and charted 32 weeks. Cowboy Carter was #1. :)

I wasn't aware Flowers was that big in Europe. Here in Latin America, it was absolutely everywhere. I remember hearing that song everywhere, and TikTok. It was probably the biggest song by a female Anglo singer from this decade here in my country, yet people still downplay Miley Saurus.

I'm honestly shocked by Gaga, tbh. Omg. I thought Germans loved her. What happened there?? Maybe she's too dramatic for Germans? Too romantic? She is of Italian descent, after all.

And Billie? Where is she?

I'm impressed that Shakira was able to create another smash hit this late in her career. People keep saying it's only because of the World Cup, but if the song were actually bad, it would've flopped like the other World Cup songs—or like her "La La La (Brazil 2014)." gayalipacat4

Yes it did lol. Both DWAS and Abra were #4. Even The Dead Dance was #12 in Germany. Mayhem was a huge era in the country.

Applause - #5

Shallow - #4 (#16 2019 YE)

Rain On Me - #9

Die With A Smile - #4 (#11 2025 YE)

Abracadabra - #4 (#17 2025 YE)

3 Top20 Year Enders the past 10years, which is very hard to get clap3

Shakira on this list twice! The global power. No wonder she makes other bases mad.

Mayhem singles on the German chart:

DWAS: #4 (72 weeks)

Abra: #4 (52 weeks)

TDD: #12 (14 weeks)

That's 138 weeks for one album alone. Who else can compare? bird

I imagine Taylor's latest #1 will end up top 20 on the year-end list too clap

For anyone wanting to drag Gaga: Abracadabra spent 9 weeks in the top 10, which is more than Opalite (5 weeks), IKIIKY (1 week) and Patient Zero (soon to be 1 week) combined

Yes GaGa, yes longevity
