The letter A....

Featured Replies

I'm back from my ATRL-thread hiatus.. anyways .. I've been thinking about this lately. heart

From a marketing/image perspective, I genuinely think having an A-name makes female pop stars more likely to become extremely loved, extremely hated, or both.

Look at the evidence: Ariana Grande, Addison Rae, Adéla, Ava Max, Azealia Banks, Amy Winehouse, Adele, Aaliyah..

Obviously these are completely different artists and circumstances, but the amount of women with A-names who become a DISCOURSE rather than simply a singer is kind of insane.. An A-girl is never just allowed to release music...

I'm not saying the LETTER A causes cancellation sjdjdjdj. I mean purely from an image/marketing psychology perspective, could A-names naturally read as more polished which makes the public attach stronger expectations to them?

"I genuinely think having an A-name makes female pop stars more likely to become extremely loved, extremely hated, or both."

The fact it says "or both" means that they can simply be "extremely loved" or "extremely hated" so Adele doesn't have to have received any hate as she's just part of the "extremely loved" category.

Yes but I think of her as non pop... she's more of a vocalist type girl.
