  1. I never thought I'd see a thread about Lights on here! Another one of my Canadian favourites. I would absolutely kill for her and Bob Moses to collaborate. A6EXTENDED is my second most played album of the year so far.
  2. "I genuinely think having an A-name makes female pop stars more likely to become extremely loved, extremely hated, or both." The fact it says "or both" means that they can simply be "extremely loved" or "extremely hated" so Adele doesn't have to have received any hate as she's just part of the "extremely loved" category. Didn't you write the OP?
  3. Especially when BuzzFeed has faced criticism regarding allegations of internal sexism, toxic work culture and gender pay disparities.
  4. I was talking to my dad about this the other week, when that Chinese humanoid robot ran 100 metres in 9.39 seconds, beating Usain Bolt's human world record of 9.58 seconds. I mentioned how there have been so many movies over the years about AI and robots becoming self-aware and eventually taking over the world, and yet… here we are.
  5. Bob Moses replied to Rian's topic in Base
  6. The Silence in Between (2022) and BLINK (2025) are definitely my favourite albums of the decade so far. Bob Moses just speak to me on a level that no other artist or band does. They also gave me my favourite song of the decade with "Time and Time Again," and honestly, I don't think anything is topping it.
  7. So she can't sing, she can't dance and she can't come up with an original composition. Can she at least walk like Rihanna?
  8. Seeing her like this makes me feel so happy.
  9. It's been 11 years since this song dropped and it's still sounding as fresh as ever. Oh God Moses.
  10. I heard a rumour that this is actually supposed to be a conceptual art piece. It's a visual representation of what goes on inside of a Barbz head.
  11. This song sounds incredible with headphones on. I've had it on repeat since yesterday. Honestly, this is one of the catchiest and most infectious songs she's released in years. The melodies in the verses, pre-chorus, chorus, and bridge are all a 10/10. Milegend simply refuses to lose. I need the full album NOW!
  12. The girl in the white t-shirt is out here trying to get cast in a Weapons sequel.
  13. You can definitely stream without commentary, and there are people who actively look for that type of content. There's a guy I watch on YouTube who currently has around 18K subscribers, and all of his gameplay is completely commentary free. He had around 5K when I first started watching him last year, so he's grown his channel pretty quickly, despite playing pretty niche games. I love watching his videos when I'm in the mood for a specific game but I'm way too tired to actually play it myself. It's nice being able to just focus on the gameplay without someone constantly yapping or being obnoxious in the background lol. So I honestly wouldn't let not wanting to provide commentary deter you from streaming. Just make it clear in your titles and bio that you're doing no commentary gameplay, and you'll probably attract people who specifically enjoy that kind of content.
  14. I have to admit, I find it thoroughly entertaining reading the dissertations some members write about pop girls and whatever fresh chaos is unfolding in the HQ thread. I haven't been posting here long enough to really know anyone yet, so half the time I'm reading some of these posts feeling like an alien who accidentally wandered into the wrong internet forum but I can't deny how much the sheer passion makes me laugh. I exist in a strange little corner of ATRL where I don't really care enough about any particular female singer to argue about them for 17 consecutive pages. I'm pretty impartial and will listen to just about anything as long as the music is good. My favourite band is Bob Moses and I doubt I'll be seeing many threads about them here unless they release new music. Until then, I mostly lurk, observe, and enjoy the spectacle. There definitely hasn't been a dull moment since I joined. I may not understand half of what's happening, but please don't stop. The entertainment value is immaculate. Keep up the good work, everyone!
  15. And this was the soundtrack to my mornings from July until around mid-August and I can see it creeping back into my playlist as we approach autumn. I'm just here to put some respect on Mother McLachlan's name.
  16. "Pretend You're God" was one of my favourite songs released last year, so I'm really excited to see what new material she's cooked up. I genuinely don't think she's ever made a bad album. I might favour some over others, but there's always a handful of great tracks on each one that I find myself going back to.
  17. I commend anyone who was able to sit through that entire 1 minute and 49 second clip because I had to turn it off after about 30 seconds from the overwhelming secondhand embarrassment. I wouldn't even speak about my own parents in that way, so I genuinely don't understand how people can talk about literal strangers like that. .
  18. According to my Apple Music Replay, this was my most played song of 2019, and I can't say I'm surprised because I was absolutely obsessed with it. It somehow manages to sound both fresh and old school at the same time. Honestly, it deserved to be a much bigger hit.
  19. Ideally, you'd want a mixture of both, but I think a good personality and sense of humour can make someone infinitely more attractive. On the flip side, a bad personality can make someone considerably less attractive. You can't date somebody based solely on their looks because a relationship isn't purely physical. If you're only interested in having sex with someone, then that isn't really a relationship. My partner is conventionally attractive, but I wasn't initially interested in him because I completely misjudged him. I thought he was going to be really shallow and boring, but once I spent more time with him, I realised he was actually really funny, caring, and a massive nerd like me. That's when I became extremely attracted to him. We've been together for almost seven years now, and I can say with some certainty that it's his personality that keeps me attracted to him. His good looks are just a bonus, if you want to call it that.
  20. This is so gross to me. I also hate this whole "boys will be boys" mindset that a lot of men have when it comes to being sexual around their friends and family members, and then dismissing it as "just a joke." If fathers were doing this with their daughters or brothers were doing it with their sisters, there would be an absolute uproar. They may not be sleeping with each other, but hanging around in the same room naked and slapping each other on the ass is still extremely weird and inappropriate. Somebody even used AI to edit a photo of them so it looked like they were kissing, and the father reposted it on Twitter as if it were funny. I would be absolutely mortified if someone created a photo like that of me and my father. Nothing about this situation should be defended or normalised. It's weird, it's uncomfortable, and I don't understand why anyone is trying to pretend otherwise.
  21. Both are great songs that fill me with so much nostalgia, but I think I lean a little more towards "We Are the People." I have such fond memories of being 11 years old, obsessed with Twilight and reading it in the back of the car during a road trip with my family to stay at a house by the lake. This song was playing on the radio, so now 2008 always makes me think of Twilight and "We Are the People." Back when times were simpler.
  22. I can't imagine a world without my mother in it. Losing her is probably my biggest fear in life, so my heart genuinely breaks for anyone who has experienced that kind of loss. I know death is a part of life and something we'll all eventually experience, but honestly, it scares me so much that I can barely bring myself to think about it. I really hope he has a good circle of friends and family around him during this incredibly difficult time.
