Do gays just know vocal notes or whatever it's called?

Featured Replies

Like I see this a lot, especially from Mariah fans.

Mariah would screech and the comments are like:

"WOW!!! Impressive F5"

"No, the D4 was flat"

"Who else could belt an E7 like that"

"effortless G5 right there"

or whatever it is they say

like.... hoe what?!

like how do they all just know this lol? it's like that with celine, whitney types too. it's like they come out of the womb knowing they'll be stans and somehow just know this

like, i get it, they stan vocalists but it's just so odd

with other pop stars, we don't care and don't keep track of that. even adele stans don't.

its music theory !! and it makes sense that people who are really into music have at least a cursory knowledge of it, especially if what they enjoy is an impressive vocal u learn through making ur own

There is no note theory for Gracie Abrams stans. We just love the instrumental and vibes

I guess it's what happens when you spend years and years watching videos of your fave's vocals being analyzed by "vocal experts". I'm no expert but I can tell what note my fave is hitting just because of that lmao. Whether the technique or the note was properly executed is a different thing tho.

Edit: I've also noted that the fanbases which are more into vocals are those whose faves present themselves as "vocalists".

Mariah stans being such vocal snobs is hilarious looking at how Mother's vocals are now

u learn through making ur own music, or playing instruments, or singing yourself !! but tbh i think maybe now a lot of people developed a working knowledge and some relative pitch from watching vocal analysis videos

i couldnt guess what a note is to save my life , honestly up until a few years ago i thought singing was just free-balling it and doing what your ears were telling you sounds good deadbanana

its an inherent ability of gays, if you dont have it your atrl account will be revoked

As a mariah/ariana stan, it's fun to see those analysis on tiktok suburban

Wish I could get better at recognizing the notes, sounds like a cool skill to have

the skream i let out

I love the mariah videos where she's barely hitting a note and then goes a bit higher for one and the screen is filled with "G7!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

No wonder Beyoncé stans are the most educated ones when it comes to this.

Only singing gays do. I used to be note obsessed. I'm still singing a lot and trying to improve my breath control, just as not as note obsessed.

I remember that one Mariah vocals YouTube channel posting a video of her yelping during her COVID shot and was like "Supported C5!!!!!11" like suburban
