So red guarantees your survival but risks the death of any opposition

Blue guarantees the survival of the whole, even the opposition, but risks your own sacrifice if enough people vote opposite of you.

I do think this is interesting, but I don't think it measures what people think it measures. More how humans logically consider problems.

There is no risk to pushing the red button. If everyone pushed the red button, everyone would live. There are no consequences. Inevitably, someone would misunderstand the terms and press the blue button, thinking that they were doing the right thing. But are you willing to risk 50%+ of people making that mistake? I'd probably press the red for that reason. I think too many people would realize that if everyone merely pressed the red button, everyone would live and that blue would struggle to reach 50%.

The threshold for "everyone" living is either:

50+% blue

100% red

Statistically, it's impossible to get 100% of people to make the same choice.. the odds for collective survival are more easily attained under the conditions of the blue button. Red winning is individual reward (self survival), but collective risk (blue death); blue winning is individual and collective reward (everyone survives) and no risk (nothing bad happens).

What's the point of pressing the blue button for anyone? There's no punishment for pressing red. Everyone should press red and everyone will live regardless of anyone being selfish or trying to kill the people who might press blue. Makes no sense to me
