Olivia Rodrigo - "drop dead"

I don't know if it will stay at #1 with Ella's album on Friday, that should help boost up Choosin' Texas's streams even more, I see Ella averaging 2-2.3m on spotify daily until like the 24th when Noah drops.

However I do see her debuting at #1, opening with 2.2-2.6m streams on Spotify in the USA and if it's a good song unlike Vampire she could easily beat out Ella at least for a couple of weeks until Ariana's rumored album release in May. Afraid it will be boring though the single cover isn't giving smash.

I see it debuting #1, then slipping for a couple of weeks because the Texas song has such a huge lead on radio. I think the interest in her comeback and her fanbase is strong enough to give her good sales. Streams will be great. I keep going back to the idea of them releasing a video on the same day as the single. The numbers won't be as great as they would be when Youtube videos counted, but it would still boost streaming on Spotify and Apple Music.

Nah. Kacey is flopping rn would rather have Olivia

Kacey's single is the highest on the charts she's ever had.... but I see your taste so okay lol

Thank you!! I keep seeing this "quote" referenced everywhere. Even a popular reviewer I follow mentioned Olivia shifting away from rock. She never said that… it was in that fake quote a Lana fan made up.

other fandoms love doing this, they did this last era with the same fake quotes about how olivia is inspired by their faves biblio

i guess they have to mention olivia since no one cares about their faves otherwise

What does any of this have to do with Olivia? Olivia is hosting SNL because she's the bigger artist

Id be gagged if it doesn't go #1, she has the base. Hopefully two #1s this era

Just realized the single cover is inspired by Addison heart

This. I think she'll leave the more punk/talking pop rock sound (BIR) behind for this album.

But it will definitely still be some genre(s) of rock influenced. That's who she is. That's what she listens to.

When she did an interview in October, she mentioned listening to The Last Dinner Party, New Order, Tori, Fiona, and Alanis. So I'd imagine they influenced her sound in some way.

Drop Dead is officially #1 in the charts of my household because I decided to go ahead and just get the cassette (also got the cassette for the album). Can't wait to turn them into cute DIY journals. foxaylove3They'll probably end up botched messes but I'm aiming for this:

curious what her 2nd song for SNL will be ? mandown

The point of going on the show is to promote the new album. She'll perform a second song from it. Assuming drop dead is upbeat, she'll probably perform a ballad or something. It's a good opportunity to showcase another side of the album to the general public.

drop dead reminds me of g4u dupe. i wonder how the GP will respond to it

The artwork screams pop but I hope it's pop/rock

I think this album will be completely different from the first two the fact that she dropped the purple aesthetic is a sign of a musical departure

There has never been a song from an album with this many pre-saves that didn't go #1 with 10M+ on day one and if it's good I see it holding onto the top spot for a long time. I don't even think 10M+ will be its debut. I think it will be more than that, potentially even bigger than BTS' and Harry's.
