She probably would if Nicki made music as good as Kanye's

The white man with Tourettes who did not apologize was protected by his illness but the black man with Bi-Polar/Schizophrenia who apologized shouldn't be excused. It's very hypocritical.

I see right through these people.

its a music forum. u should

well there is one song he released last year that is relevant to the conversation being held here...

Hate to say it but Black celebrities are probably more inclined to support other Black celebs regardless of whether they're good people or not because of the shared experiences of racism in the industry. It's also easy to chalk up any critique of him to that. Sad but true and it's also probably why many were stanning down for Nicki until recently/still defend Diddy rip

I think there's a lot of complex stuff going on with the black community and their relationship to Kanye … stuff I'm frankly not qualified to spend too much time ruminating on or attempting to explain

One thing I think is definitely true in all of this: if at the time Kanye started spouting just unbridled , unmitigated pure anti-semitism ….. if he had had the foresight and frankly the actual knowledge to direct his consternation at ISRAEL specifically instead of making blanket statements about all Jews and praising hitler , he'd be in a much different social standing right now than where he currently stands, but I do think he's just a straight up anti-Semite at the end of the day and the fact that he's seeing people in the industry gravitate back towards him will only embolden those beliefs he's currently trying to downplay for the chance of getting back in people's good graces

I've come to realize he's many people's Beyonce and he could do no harm in their eyes or make excuses cause he's their MPG. It is what it is.

Yes, this is all just racism towards the "Heil Hitler" rapper

This is why I won't be canceling Chilli. Black male celebrities are coddled just like black male losers are in black families while the women and girls are dragged.

90% of this forum was protecting that man with a disability screaming the N word but you guys can't accept an apology from someone suffering from a mental illness? Fake righteousness all across this forum. I don't care if I get downvoted to hell and blocked, none of you phase me.

Completely and utterly different scenarios. That actor saying that word was the equivalent of a sneeze for him, that's how his condition works. It causes him to involuntarily blurt out the most offensive, awful thing he could say in a given moment. Awful situation, but it did not speak of his character or beliefs.

Kanye, on the other hand, has spoken in detail about his beliefs for years, doubled down on them, used his platform to amplify them and profit off of them. If he spends a few years making amends, doing actual work to make up for it and shows us that he's truly changed, that's one thing....but a quick "sorry" before putting out a new album, within the same calendar year as putting out a song called "Heil Hitler" and selling Nazi merch, is not it.

I did NOT say that.

A white man screamed "NIGG*R" at black people and members of this forum defended it. He never once apologized to the people he offended and still you all were ok with it.

Kanye has said and done questionable things and was medically diagnosed with a mental illness but y'all did not care about that. He also put out an apology to everyone he offended and still thats not enough for the black man.

Thats hypocritical no matter how you try to shuffle the cards.

Not even just that but majority of black people are religious and Christianity preaches FORGIVENESS.

I never defended the guy with tourettes so idk who "you all" are, but tourettes is a disease that can cause offensive audible tics, that's just a reality of the condition. Bipolar disorder and schizophrenia does not turn you into a nazi, so your defence of him just really does not work at all. You can try to defend him if you want, but trying to make a comparison to the guy with tourettes is just apples and oranges.

you can't seriously compare that guy with tourettes with the man who has been one of the strongest accomplices to the rise of fascism in the last couple of years

I have dealt with this situation head on in my family most of my life so yes I am. Mental illness is seriously dangerous unchecked.

I have an aunt just like Kanye. She was a successful private duty Registered Nurse that I watched lose everything. Being bi-polar/schizophrenic and off your meds is one of the most chaotic things a loved one can ever deal with. She has put our family through hell over the years but we never turned our back on her and thats why I always sympathized with Kim when she was trying to get him help.

They hear voices in their heads and say and do a lot of **** they do not mean and wont remember once they are on their medication. After 30 years we finally have my aunt somewhere that she gets her medicine consistently and she's doing great now. Shes the person before the breakdown again.

I'm not a Kanye apologist but his condition hits close to home and A LOT of people misunderstand it

the fact that he still has fans and so much industry support after everything rip men can really do whatever they want and still succeed

and yes, mental illness may be an explanation for his antics and i wish him well in that regard, but it does not negate the harm he has caused. the fact that he is suffering basically 0 consequences...

He did reach out to Delroy and Michael and personally apologized to them. People weren't "defending" the word, just explaining that this is a condition where he cannot stop it and it doesn't reflect his character or beliefs. He quite literally had no control over it, it's the equivalent of a sneeze for him. His brain is wired to make him blurt out the most heinous, offensive thing that could be said in a situation. His own mother has been on the receiving end of it. He made a whole film to educate people about it. The enemies in that situation were BBC for seating him right behind a mic and not blurting it out the broadcast.

But again, that is a completely different situation from Kanye spending YEARS using his massive platform to spew anti-semitic garbage, say things like "Slavery was a choice", sell literal Nazi merch with swastikas on it, championing Trump, and even put out a song called Heil Hitler within this year. He literally platformed and profited off of this stuff. Saying sorry is a start, sure, but we're less than a year from him releasing Heil Hitler. This is the kind of thing where time and putting in the actual work to make up for it and truly show people that you've changed is necessary for most people. Bipolar disorder is tough and I truly hope he gets the help he needs, but this is not as simple as a tic.

See my following post above.

Again I'm no Kanye apologist but the man also went YEARS unchecked off his medication and the things he's said and done line up with people severely suffering from bi-polar and schizophrenia.

The issue with Kanye is that regardless of why he said all those things, for years, is that with great power comes great responsibility. He has shown that he cannot be trusted with a massive cultural/media platform from which he can influence millions. It's more than just whether or not he should be forgiven and welcomed back to polite society and get to go on award shows and whatnot. He's shown he can cause actual harm in society by promoting extremely dangerous beliefs. To a lot of people, that means he cannot be trusted with that level of power again, because he is not some B list star no one cares about, the risk is too big to have a major A list superstar with millions of devoted followers spouting rhetoric that gets people killed.

That's outright lie or lack of research.

Davidson apologised publicly and privately to Delroy and Jordan, and castmate Wunmi Mosaku explicitly said that her rage was not the disabled person, more to the industry and the BBC for not editing it out.

And so have other Black actors.

I'm not gonna debate you on mental illness cause it's very complex and various people experience it very differently.
